An All-White Wedding in Snowmass, Colorado

Not many couples can say that Beyoncé played a role in their engagement, but Christina Tang and Todd Tourso can. In August 2016, Todd, a creative director, was wrapping up the European leg of the Formation World Tour (yes, he works with Beyoncé!), and Christina joined him in Barcelona before they headed on their vacation in Greece after the tour. “We went out to lunch, and his friends snuck back to the hotel to upgrade our room to an incredible suite with views of the skyline,” Christina recalls. “They’d filled the room with candles, roses, and champagne, and when we got back to the room, Todd got down on one knee with a ring in hand.”

After such a spectacular engagement, Christina says they wanted a wedding celebration that would be equally as magical. So they headed to Snowmass, Colorado, and married at friend Dasha Zhukova's mountaintop residence, which features unparalleled views. “You can really feel the power of nature when you’re up there, it’s so humbling,” explains the bride. Christina and Todd also worked with Tara Cathcart of TMC PR and Debra Doyle of Aspen Eventworks to create a memorable event—which, by the time they started planning, came together in just four months! “Todd has a habit of doing things last-minute, but thankfully we are great at making decisions together,” Christina says.

In the end, their romantic-meets-modern wedding featured an all-white color palette that popped against the surrounding mountain peaks to let the area's beauty shine. “Everything was elegant, simple, and dreamy, and let guests really take in their surroundings,” Christina explains. But don’t take our word for it—check out the stunning photos, by Robin Harper, below!

Christina spotted her crochet lace Elie Saab gown online and immediately fell in love. “I had the exact same feeling the first time I tried it on!” she says. And it's easy to see why: The dress features a floral-patterned design, along with a sheer back and bell sleeves.

To add a fashion-forward twist to the wedding party, Christina asked her bridesmaids to choose their own dresses in a shade of blush. Looking back, she says her friends really "brought" it!

Christina’s accessories each made a statement. She donned blue velvet Saint Laurent platforms, which served as a something blue—and also, thanks to the platform heel, made an outdoor wedding a breeze for the bride. She donned a diamond ring from her father (that had once belonged to her grandmother) as her something old and paired her emerald-cut engagement ring with a baguette eternity band.

Todd kept his look simple in a Saint Laurent tuxedo. “They took care of everything, from his tux to his shirt to his shoes," Christina says of his shopping experience at YSL. "He was ready to go in less than two hours!”

Christina’s mother walked her down the aisle, where only the mountains served as a backdrop for the couple’s vows. “We considered three or four different altars and arches, but the day before the wedding, we scrapped it all and embraced the once-in-a-lifetime landscape," Christina says. "Every time I look back at the photos, I’m so happy that’s what we chose.”

After Todd and Christina exchanged vows, they and their 100 guests headed to the other side of the property for the reception. There, escort cards were displayed on vintage wooden tables topped with modern single-bloom arrangements of white ranunculus, calla lilies, hydrangeas, and delphinium.

A clear-top tent with open sides was set up for dinner and dancing—and its location ensured that everyone witnessed the stunning Colorado sunset. Inside, the space was set with modern white and mirrored tables paired with lucite chiavari chairs to keep things feeling light and airy. The ceiling of the tent was draped with thousands of string lights, while single-variety arrangements decorated the tabletops below. (Notice the light's reflection on the mirrored tables!)

After dinner, the groom had a surprise for his bride: “Todd surprised me with a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance on top of the mountain," she recalls. "It was insane!”

But the night didn't end there! Instead, the couple knew they wanted a killer dance party, so they flew in a deejay from Los Angeles to keep the dance floor packed all night long.

Looking back, Christina says she would've extended that high. “Our only regret is that we didn’t take our honeymoon right away,” she says. “The feeling you have the day after your wedding is unreal, and I wish we’d gone away immediately after to make that feeling last as long as possible!”
