We've seen Amy Schumer strut her stuff at weddings before as a bridesmaid, but now the comedian and actress has scored herself a starring role. On Tuesday, February 13, Schumer tied the knot with boyfriend, ahem, husband Chris Fischer in a secret celebrity wedding for the books, with the celeb herself later sharing her wedding photos to Instagram.
Us Weekly was the first to report the marriage news, and Schumer later confirmed it herself when she shared a slew of snapshots of the big day, featuring herself and Fischer, a chef whom the comedian has been dating for just a few months. In fact, the couple only confirmed their relationship on Sunday, February 11 when Schumer posted her first Instagram snapshot featuring her beau. Taken in a photo booth at Ellen DeGeneres’ 60th birthday party, Schumer is seen smooching Fischer. "Happy Birthday @theellenshow thank you for having us!" the Trainwreck actress captioned the pic. From Instagram official to married in a matter of days? As long as there's cake, we're here for it.
According to the entertainment mag, the wedding took place in a rented house in Malibu with a few celebrity friends in attendance, including Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, Larry David, and Judd Apatow. The ceremony was officiated by comedian John Early, and the couple reportedly enforced a strict no-phone policy at the party. But, just because her besties couldn't snap and share pics, doesn't mean the bride herself can't! On February 15, Schumer took to Instagram to share the first of wedding photos.
"Yup," she simply captioned the first series of photos that featured shots of her rocking a floral tulle wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier, the ceremony that took place overlooking the ocean, and wedding guest Jennifer Lawrence.
Another series of shots Schumer shared featured her pup all dressed up for the big day. She also posted a note clarifying that, no, she's not pregnant, and that she and her new hubby request donations made to Everytown for Gun Safety, a nonprofit organization which advocates for gun control and against gun violence, in lieu of wedding gifts.
Before beginning her relationship with the James Beard award-winning chef in November 2017, Schumer dated furniture designer Ben Hanisch for almost two years. They split in May 2017, but reportedly remained friends.
With this nuptial news, Schumer just joined the ranks of other stars who have also secretly said I do, like Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. (Hey, there are definitely worse clubs to join...) But, just like all these other secret celebrity weddings, we're going to need some more big-day details, ASAP.
