It seems married life suits Amy Schumer just fine. To celebrate her six-month wedding anniversary with her husband, chef Chris Fischer, Schumer shared a makeup-free selfie on Instagram with a caption befitting of the raunchy comedian. “Married 6 months today. I love you more every day. sorry my fart woke us up this morning 🙋🏼👩🏾🌾,” Schumer wrote. It’s unclear where the photo was taken, but based on their respective protective headgear—her in a baby blue beanie and straw hat and him in a green hoodie—it was pretty darn cold outside. Schumer’s dog, Tatiana Maslany, also makes an appearance in the photo.
Schumer, 37, has been very candid about their whirlwind courtship and surprise wedding, which unfolded in Malibu in February in front of 80 guests—Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, and Larry David among them. The couple first met in Martha’s Vineyard while Schumer was shooting her movie I Feel Pretty, she told Howard Stern in April. Fischer, as it turns out, is the brother of Schumer’s close friend and assistant, Molly. But things only got romantic after Schumer hired Fischer to cook for her friend Rachel Feinstein’s birthday party in New York City. “I got that feeling where all the blood goes to all the places,” Schumer told Stern. “It just changed.”
After a few months of dating, the couple were engaged when Fischer presented her with an engagement ring in bed. And while it only took Schumer three to four days to plan the wedding, she made sure to point out that none of it was done haphazardly. “You know that I'm not like a fool. I’m not impulsive like that,” Schumer said on The View in April. “We have known each other for about a year now and we’ve been living together already for six months,” she said. “So you know it’s not a long courtship but it’s not like we had a great weekend in Vegas and threw in the towel.” Schumer went on to explain that she was never going to settle and that Fischer is “the one.” So far, so good.
