Congratulations are in order for AJ Brown, the hero of Queer Eye episode four, who is now married to his fiancé, Andre!
The happy news was announced on Friday by the Fab 5 via the official Queer Eye Twitter account, which also told the world about AJ and Andre's engagement. "The Fab 5 reunited with AJ + Andre, who revealed they’re now MARRIED!" read the tweet, along with a pic of the newlyweds posing with the Fab 5 on the red carpet. According to Us Weekly, Brown himself shared the news with the audience the night before at Netflix's FYSee Event.
The couple's engagement was announced back in February, when the Queer Eye account tweeted out a congratulations and a short clip from the episode starring Brown. "WE'VE GOT SOME NEWS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR WEEK!" the tweet read. "AJ AND DREY GOT ENGAGED ... OUR GAY HEARTS ARE EXPLODING."
In the episode, entitled "To Gay or Not Too Gay," the Fab 5 give Brown a makeover and help him come out to his stepmother, whom he introduces to Andre. "I just feel really good about him," Brown says in the episode, "and I'm thinking about possibly getting married, maybe."
Queer Eye seems to be preternaturally good at helping people think about possibly getting married and then helping them follow through. In May, Tom Jackson and Abby Parr from the reboot's first episode announced that they had eloped and gotten re-married. A couple days later, Queer Eye "culture expert" Karamo Brown proposed to his boyfriend of eight years, Ian Jordan (who obviously said yes). Keep up the good work, Fab 5!
