Ten years ago, Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia inflated three airbeds for guests in their San Francisco apartment...and like that Airbnb was born. A decade later, the upstart has grown into a $41-billion company with listings all over the world. Determined to keep disrupting and innovating, the global giant recently debuted a new category of top-tier accommodations that promises to appeal to even the poshest of travelers.

Every Airbnb Plus home is verified in person to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and comfort, which includes passing a 100 point checklist covering everything from design (so there’s no chance of the place looking nothing like the pictures you saw online) to amenities and hospitality.

If you’re thinking that this sound fabulous, but wondering if you afford it, the answer is yes. Lux lodgings ring in around $200 per night, which is way less than you’d expect to shell out for a comparable hotel.
