A Romantic Destination Wedding at Borgo Stomennano in Tuscany

When actress and designer Camille Cregan first met director William Overby in 2012, they were both in costume. "A mutual friend invited me to Will's Halloween party, where he was dressed as a combination of Prince and Rambo, and I was Donatella Versace," Camille says with a laugh. After the party, Camille's friend thought she had left her phone at his house, so Camille called to see if he had it. "The phone wasn't there, but he asked me out for a drink, and we've been together ever since," she says.

Four years later, on Christmas Eve in 2016, Will asked Camille to join him in their living room so he could give her an early Christmas present. "A Ray Charles record was playing and there was a fire in the fireplace," she recalls. Will was under the tree on his hands and knees, searching for the gift in question. "All of a sudden, he exclaimed that he'd found it, and I turned around to find him holding a tiny antique ring box, down one knee," Camille says.

The bride's family is from England, and the pair briefly considered hosting their destination wedding in the UK. Then, they had another thought: "We realized, though, that we'd be asking 100 people to travel to Europe anyway, so we might as well get married in one of our favorite places, Tuscany!" Camille explains. They chose Borgo Stomennano in Monteriggioni, where they exchanged vows in the gardens before dining at a single long table lit with candelabras. Planner Francesca Simoncini of Sposiamovi embraced the couple's romantic, "Old World" aesthetic, teaming up with vendors who could help bring Will and Camille's vision to life. "Francesca really understood us," Camilles ays. "I wouldn't have changed a thing!"

William and Camille selected a simple invitation suite featuring textured, hand-torn paper and an embossed illustration of a drive lined with Cyprus trees.

The couple's rings even coordinated with the wedding's "Old World" aesthetic. "We got all of our rings from Platt Boutique in West Hollywood," says the bride. "They have an incredible collection of antique and estate jewelry!" The bride's engagement ring and wedding bands are both Art Deco designs, while Will's band dates from the 1940s.

Camille and her bridesmaids got ready at the villa, toasting with Prosecco before the bride slipped into her gown.

Camille's mom is designer Jane Booke, so the mother-daughter duo designed the bride's dress together. "I knew I wanted bias-cut silk crepe—it hugs you in all the right places," Camilles says. The silhouette was inspired by one of her mom's first designs from the '90s, and Camille paired her sleek gown with Miu Miu shoes and a rhinestone-embellished veil from Happy Isles.

A family friend's children served as the couple's flower girl and ring bearer. The flower girl wore a white dress with lace trim and a flower crown, while the ring bearer donned a tiny tie and carried an embroidered pillow.

"My mom designed all of the bridesmaids' dresses," says Camille. "Each dress was in the same pink silk, but my friends got to choose their own silhouettes." Will wore a navy suit with a patterned tie, while his groomsmen wore beige suits with navy ties.

As guests arrived at the outdoor wedding ceremony, they were given cones of rose petals to toss after the couple's first kiss.

Camille's godfather officiated the garden ceremony. "We legally got married at the Beverly Hills courthouse the week before but consider this our true wedding ceremony," says the bride. The ceremony took place next to a bubbling fountain, with the altar decorated with lush white peonies and delphinium.

As the couple and their guests made their way to cocktail hour, they found escort cards (and a few white roses!) scattered on top of manicured hedges.

Cocktail hour took place in the garden, where guests sipped Prosecco and Aperol spritzes as they enjoyed bruschetta, Pecorino with honey, truffle arancini, and fried zucchini blossoms.

"During cocktails, Will and I went over to the reception space to take a peek at the tables," says Camille. "It was like a fairytale! Everything was so lush, glowing with candles and string lights hung from the trees." The couple sat their 100 guests at a single long table that curved beneath the trees to create an intimate environment for their guests.

Sage green runners were topped with blush and ivory centerpieces comprised of roses, lisianthus, astilbe, and scabiosa. Tall candelabras shone amongst clusters of votive and pillar candles.

For dinner, guests dined on burrata with tomato confit, paccheri pasta with pesto, and branzino. "After the first course was served, it suddenly started to pour," Camille recalls. "Everyone ran into the granary, the oldest building on the property, and we sat on folding chairs and the floor and ate our entrées in our laps!"

Once the rain stopped, everyone headed back outside for emotional toasts and a traditional Tuscan millefoglie wedding cake. "The chefs prepared the layers of pastry, cream, and berries right in front of us," says the bride. Camille's father is a musician who played and wrote with Rod Stewart for more than 20 years. "He actually wrote 'Forever Young,' which he played for me during the reception," says the bride.

The groom's best friends' band, The Drakes, also played a few sets before a DJ took over. "At one point, Will was up on stage with them singing 'Into My Arms' by Nick Cave and 'I Would Die 4 U' by Prince," says Camille. "It was one of the sweetest moments."

Rain picked up yet again, so everyone headed back inside for a late-night dance party that ended with pizza served on the dance floor. "Our entire wedding weekend was so full of love and romance. We embraced the things that didn't go how we'd planned, and they have turned into some of our favorite and funniest memories."
