Though Caroline Long and Theodore Vouyiouklakis grew up in the same town—and were even in the same grade!—it wasn’t until college that they really got to know each other, thanks to a mutual friend. They realized that what they’d been searching for was right under their noses, and began a six-year relationship that led to an exciting engagement during a trip to Prague.

For their wedding, the travel-loving pair wanted to bring their guests to one of their favorite destinations, and invited 80 people to join them in Mykonos on June 10, 2017. “We loved Santa Marina Resort because our guests could stay on the property too,” says Carrie. They turned to White Ribbon Boutique Events to help them create their destination celebration, finding the perfect balance between an authentic experience and an exciting introduction to Greece for first-time visitors. “Having our loved ones there made it less like a wedding and more like a holiday with our most beloved people,” says the bride. Keep reading for a peek into the couple’s gorgeous Grecian celebration, as photographed by Anna Roussos, below!

Painted images of Mykonos’s unmistakable white buildings and burnt orange roofs gave guests a hint of what was to come. Local Greek goodies, including evil eye talismans, welcomed the couple’s family and friends as they arrived.

Carrie donned a lace A-line gown by Monique Lhuillier, which featured sheer lace appliqués over a deep-V bodice. She wore her hair in loose waves, and pulled away from her face thanks to a tight braid on one side.

The couple didn’t have bridesmaids or groomsmen, but they did have two adorable attendants! Carrie’s niece and nephew served as flower girl and pageboy. Her niece wore a white striped dress with a monogram on the chest, while her nephew paired navy shorts with a checked shirt and suspenders.

For their ceremony, Carrie and Teddy selected a quaint whitewashed chapel by the water. A garland of greenery and white peonies framed the blue doorway, which served as the backdrop for the ceremony.

Hiring a planner with relationships in the area made all the difference,” says Carrie. “She knew which vendors would be the most talented and trustworthy, as well as in our price range! It meant our entire team really understood our vision.”
