Sylvia Martin is a 93-year-old bride, and she is looking for the perfect smokin'-hot red dress to wear to her wedding. Lucky for us, she's open to help from the public in deciding which gown to wear on her big day, and her heartwarming story is all we need to convince us to cast a vote.
As BuzzFeed reports, Martin visited the Australian boutique Birdsnest looking for the perfect dress for her upcoming nuptials. She tried on so many fiery options that Birdsnest turned to social media for assistance. The shop's Facebook page shared Martin's story, in addition to photos of her in four different red looks, asking fans to comment on their choice.
"Sylvia, 93, visited our store with her bridesmaids in tow to help choose a dress for her July wedding to Frank [Raymond], 88. They live together in a retirement village," according to the post. "Frank and Sylvia have known each other for more than 20 years, and Frank has 'many times' asked Sylvia to marry him. Sylvia has always refused, thinking that to take a new surname would be disrespectful to her deceased husband."
Things changed about a year ago, however, after Martin was recovering from being sick. "A year ago Sylvia took ill and moved to Canberra to be near her family, and Frank thought all hope was lost. When Sylvia recovered, she found Frank, who was living in Adelaide, and convinced him to move to Canberra to be with her," the post says. "Frank arrived a couple of months ago and again asked Sylvia to marry him. Sylvia had learned that you can keep your own surname when you marry, and so said yes."
Voting seems to still be open on Birdsnest's Facebook page, so take a look at each dress and help this sassy 93-year-old bride look her absolute best on her wedding day, at long last. Personally, we think she would make a stunning bride in any of the four.
