Brides.com stopped by J. Crew today to preview their new collection (which will be available next spring). It's been a cold rainy day here in New York (hail pelted us in our taxi!), but inside we were transported to J. Crew world pretty quickly — which is a glowingly warm place—relaxed, yet glamorous.
The new season's collection still gives you the colorful brights that J. Crew is known for, but this time there's more of an emphasis on a neutral foundation of colors such as Buff, Peach, Nude, and Grey. (I'm capitalizing the color names here since they seem like nouns to me in importance given their job.) The effect makes the flower adornments, colored jewels and other color accents really pop.
And expect to see some new fabrics in the wedding dress collection, such as a patterned, white, Liberty of London fabric dotted with beads, some metallic cotton silks, printed jacquards — even silk sail cloth (see dress below).
If you're looking for accessories to complement your look, you can't go wrong with this ruffled satin clutch with jeweled closure — so stylish and fun. And if you are also looking for an excuse to buy a new bag for a honeymoon trip, there's a roomy and elegant dusty pink, pleated satin tote that's just the right size. —Michelle Preli
