Exclusive: Spotify's Top Streams of 2020 for Weddings, Bachelorette Parties and More

See which John Legend song nabbed a no. 1 spot.

Music plays a huge part in your wedding and related events—it can seriously make or break the atmosphere! So who better than Spotify to give us insight on the music for your special day (s)?

Spotify has exclusively shared with Brides the most streamed songs of 2020 at weddings and wedding related events, and, honestly, you may be surprised by a few that made the list.

The playlists include, Top 20 Songs From Bachelorette Party-Themed Playlists in the US This Year (in the past 90 days), Top Songs From Bachelor Party-Themed Playlists in the US This Year (in the past 90 days), Top 20 Most Streamed Songs In Father & Daughter-Themed Playlists in the US in 2020, and Top 20 Most Streamed Songs in First Dance-Themed Playlists in the US in 2020.

While the lists include some unsurprising classics like "At Last" by Etta James, "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac, and Haley Reinhart's rendition of "Can't Help Falling In Love," there are quite a few songs we didn't expect to see on a couple of these lists. For example, we were quite shocked to see "I Don't Care," by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber (kind of sweet) and "Sweet But Psycho-Morgan Paige Dance Remix" by Ava Max and Morgan Paige on the top streamed song list for Bachelor Party-themed playlists. (And grooms, that last one is borderline offensive to brides everywhere!)

But some very expected songs like "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, "WAP" by Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B, and "Truth Hurts" by Lizzo found their way to the top of bachelorette party-themed playlists, with "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls ranking in at number one most streamed.

John Legend's "Conversations in the Dark" took first prize for the most streamed on first dance-themed playlists in the US in 2020. (And to be honest, we're tearing up just thinking about him singing it to Chrissy!)

Some other interesting facts include Ed Sheeran being the most globally streamed artist for weddings and related events, with Bruno Mars and Dan + Shay close behind. Plus, Spotify told Brides that there was a major global increase in the creation of “micro wedding” and “intimate wedding” playlists.
