Spice Girls' Mel B Is Engaged to Rory McPhee

Congratulations are in order for Melanie "Mel B" Brown, who is officially engaged to her boyfriend and hairstylist, Rory McPhee. Now, in her excitement following the proposal, the pop star is recounting all of the incredible details of the day it went down.

Some of the key elements? A stunning setting, plenty of rose petals, a beautiful ring, and countless happy tears were a few of the elements that made the moment so special, People reports. Best known as Scary Spice from iconic British pop group the Spice Girls, Brown, 47, has been dating McPhee, 36, for three years and said that the surprise proposal was "very romantic."

Brown appeared on the television show Celebrity Gogglebox in the U.K. last Friday, and she chatted with comedian Ruby Wax about her relationship with McPhee. She excitedly talked about the incredible details of her engagement, saying, "He said, 'I love you, you're my best friend, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.'" The setting was important, too, Brown explained to Wax. She and McPhee were enjoying a private vacation in Berkshire, located in England's countryside, when the big moment happened. "There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel—which was Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers," Brown explained.

As for the ring, The Independent reports that McPhee proposed to Brown with a very special (and expensive!) piece of jewelry. Her brand-new engagement ring features a pear-shaped Champagne-hued diamond, which is set on a rose gold band. The reported price tag is roughly 100,000 pounds, which is about $114,940.

McPhee currently styles his fiancé's hair on this season of The Masked Singer and often features Brown on his Instagram page. And while the couple has been mostly private about their relationship, Brown has hinted in the past that the pair have been good friends for a long time. According to Us Weekly, Brown previously said, "I’m with someone who’s very kind. Very, very kind. And more than anything we’re really good friends from way back.” And, as the Spice Girls always say, "Friendship never ends!"

This will be Brown's third marriage. The pop star was previously married to Jimmy Gulzar, and that relationship lasted from 1998 to 2000. After that, the singer married Stephen Belafonte, and the duo was together from 2007 to 2017. Brown is also mother to three daughters: Phoenix Chi Gulzar, 23; Madison Brown Belafonte, 10; and Angel Iris Murphy Brown, 15, whose father is actor and comedian Eddie Murphy.
