The bride gave her fans an inside look into her special day by sharing a few details, such as a firework show and an epic after-party, on her Instagram Story, per E! News. The fashion designer also posted about the grand event on TikTok, and her clips reveal that she took part in a bouquet toss and had white flowers border her venue. But perhaps the most memorable detail was her attire. The bride donned three stunning looks from Chanel for her wedding festivities. A few weeks before the ceremony, the bride visited the Chanel haute couture salons in Paris for her final dress fitting, and Vogue gave an exclusive preview of each look following her nuptials.
For her rehearsal dinner at a private estate on Friday, April 21, 2023, the bride sported a long-sleeved beaded dress with a high neck and fringe detailing. “I’m scared to move because I don’t want to ruin one bead,” she told the publication while trying on the dress. “This is like a fairy tale. It really is. It’s like an art piece. I feel like a princess. I really do!” Richie noted that she’s thinking of wearing her hair up to avoid having her locks get caught in the beading. As for the makeup, the bride settled on a “super simple and clean” look. The dress code for the event was cocktail attire, and the couple instructed their guests to wear something colorful and fun, the outlet explains.
Her main look of the day, her ceremony dress, was another beaded ensemble with a high neckline that exhibited scalloped detailing, which was inspired by a look from Chanel’s Fall 2023 collection. “We created the top of that dress and made it bridal-y,” she recalled. “It is such magic. I honestly think Elliot is going to love it. He is my biggest cheerleader when it comes to anything I wear. If he doesn’t cry, I’ll be very sad.” The dress was full of sentimental details. For one, it included a monogrammed “S&E,” which was inscribed on the inside of the gown and served as her something blue. The ensemble also showcased a romantic hidden motif: two hearts facing one another that symbolized their union. “I’m so excited,” she gushed. “It’s because I’m marrying Elliot. I know that sounds cheesy, but he is the man of my dreams.”
Richie explained that when she was younger, she imagined wearing an elaborate piece on her wedding day. “I always had this vision of the big princess dress and going big, but as I got older, I realized that I wanted something a bit more simple,” the bride shared. “Maybe ‘simple’ isn’t the right word because my dress definitely is not simple!”
Finally, the bride stepped out in a mini dress for her after-party, which incorporated a 3D floral accent in the middle of the gown, the Chanel camellia. “This, to me, is like my little girl dream,” Richie expressed. “And the fact that it is inspired [by] Claudia Schiffer’s runway dress is iconic and dope. I can dance. I can move. I love it! It’s traditional Chanel.” The couple’s post-reception party mirrored a night club, full of strobe lights, upbeat tunes, and late-night snacks. “I will be eating pizza and fries in this dress," she admitted. "Pray for this dress. It will be my life’s mission to make sure nothing happens to it.” Richie shared that working with Chanel to customize her ensembles and trying on each look in the Chanel haute couture salons was a little intimidating but was ultimately a dreamy experience. “But they were so open to hearing my thoughts and suggestions, and they were so lovely to work with, and I adore everyone that I got to know along the process,” she said. “It’s something I’ll never forget.”
The bride wore other showstopping looks throughout the weekend. She kicked off the celebrations in what appears to be a white linen set, which she accessorized with trendy round sunglasses and a hair scarf.
For an afternoon by the water, Richie donned a white coverup with black detailing—an edgier take on all-white ensemble that was perfect for a beach or pool outing. She completed her look with a statement pearl necklace and raffia Chanel bag.
Next, Richie donned a blue gown, with she dubbed her "something blue," complete with a sheer high neckline. A sleek updo and oversized hoop earrings were her finishing touches.
In keeping with her bridal theme, Richie next stepped out in a white mini dress with gold button detailing. She kept her hair down and accessorized with a small bag, pink flats, and round sunglasses.
