Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have been newlyweds for about two weeks now, but they don’t plan on stopping the wedding celebrations any time soon. After the Olympic gymnast and the NFL star said “I do” during a courthouse ceremony in Texas on April 22, 2023, the professional athlete said she and her husband are planning a bigger wedding with 140 guests and four outfits changes for the bride. According to Biles’ Instagram Stories on May 4, 2023, the couple may have already headed to the locale for their second nuptials, leading many fans to wonder if the second wedding celebration will take place this weekend. Although the duo hasn’t confirmed the official date, they left a few hints on social media.

The gymnast first gave her fans a peak at the couple’s ride to the airport in a luxe sprinter van, where the two of them sipped champagne. “& we’re off,” she wrote on the first slide, followed by emojis signifying a bride and groom. Biles then uploaded another snap, showing the couple and their families celebrating at the airport, including a toast to her Uncle Paul. “Uncle Paul aka gonna be the best officiant y’all have ever seen,” she said on social media. Once the group landed, Biles shared a solo shot of Owens in front of a backdrop of blue skies.

Since then, the athlete has reposted a few of her friends’ Instagram Stories, who have hinted at the fact that they’re getting ready to celebrate the couple. “See you soon Mrs. Owens,” one friend posted. Someone else shared a video of herself and Biles in bathing suits on a pool deck, with the caption, “Let’s go @simonebiles.” Another potential wedding guest posted a photo of a hotel bed and views of palm trees and blue skies on his Instagram Story and gave away the reason: “wedding weekend,” the Story said, including tags to Biles and Owens' Instagram handles.

After the athletic duo exchanged vows at their courthouse ceremony, Biles shared on Instagram during a Q&A segment that she and Owens are planning another wedding. “We will be having a wedding in a couple of weeks,” the Olympic gold medalist told her followers. “We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the U.S. since our wedding will be a destination wedding.” Although Biles never identified the exact location of their upcoming soirée, she did share that some of her guests are waiting on their passports, so it’s likely that they’ll say “I do” in an international country.

During the Q&A segment, the bride-to-be shared a glimpse into the aesthetic for her big day. On her Instagram Story, Biles revealed that the color scheme will feature champagne, gold, and white tones. The décor will also include florals, which Biles said was the most expensive item. “We went so over budget that we decided there is no longer a budget,” she joked. For her attire, the Olympic gold medalist said she’s picked out four different wedding dresses. According to her Instagram Story, the couple will write their own vows and have eight bridesmaids and seven groomsmen stand by their side during the ceremony. Once the big day is done, the newlyweds will head to a minimoon, followed by a traditional honeymoon.
