Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens Are Married!

Congratulations are in order for Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens! The Olympic gymnast and Houston Texans player are officially married, and the duo shared the happy news of their updated relationship status in two separate Instagram posts on Saturday, April 22, 2023. According to USA Today, the newlyweds made it official yesterday, April 21, 2023, and it appears that they chose a Texas courthouse as their venue.

"I do 🤍 officially owens 🤍," Biles captioned a carousel of photos on Instagram captured by Rachel Taylor of RaeTay Photography, who shared additional imagery from the big day with Brides. In the first snap, the duo emerges from a doorway hand-in-hand; Owens, in a beige suit, is triumphantly raising his fist into the air while Biles, in a tiered white gown and holding a full bouquet of white flowers, smiles at her new husband. Additional photos show the newlyweds kissing inside a marble-walled building and exchanging vows before what looks to be a justice of the peace.

Owens captioned his own carousel of photos, "My person, forever ❤️💍." He shared a number of the same images, but a few additional options including sweet snaps of the couple kissing and portraits on a rooftop overlooking the city.

In one photo from the day, we get our first look at Biles's new wedding band. The bride now sports a thin band encrusted with round-cut diamonds alongside her engagement ring. For the big day, she chose a bridal manicure that featured almond-shaped nails and what appears to be a neutral polish color.

Earlier this week, Biles posted a photo of the pair sitting inside a car holding a marriage license issued in Montgomery County, Texas. "Almost time to say “I do” 📄🤍," she wrote at the time. According to the county clerk's website, marriage licenses from the county are valid for up to 90 days and allow for legal marriage in any county in Texas; as of now, there's no word on where Biles and Owens made it official.

Biles and Owens met in March of 2020 through the popular dating app Raya, People reports; two months later, they took their relationship public by sharing their first photos on social media. Owens proposed in on Valentine's Day 2022, getting down on one knee in a gazebo and presenting his bride-to-be with an oval-cut diamond engagement ring worth an estimated $300,000.

From that point on, the Biles and Owens went straight into wedding-planning mode. In March of 2023, the gymnast celebrated her bachelorette party with a trip to Belize. There, she subtly hinted that she would likely take her future husband's last name. Earlier this month, her family and friends gathered together once again, this time to celebrate her bridal shower. The dreamy "cloud nine"-themed event featured plenty of white balloons, flutes of Champagne with cloud-like cotton candy puffs, and a three-tiered white cake.

Now that Biles and Owens are officially husband and wife, only one question remains: While they be celebrating with another wedding? In October of last year, beloved wedding dress designer Galia Lahav confirmed that Biles would be wearing at least a few different looks from their collection. “It’s official: She said “YES to the dress(es)!” 🤍,” the designer wrote on Instagram. “We are over the moon & so honored about gold medalist & mega athlete @simonebiles becoming a GL Bride!” Based on the photos we've seen so far, it looks as if another wedding celebration is likely in the works, and we can't wait to see all of the details.
