Experience
Roveena has been writing ever since she could pick up a pen, observing everyone around her and constantly pestering them with questions about the world. Writing fictional stories on the connections between body image and the beauty world made her realize she wanted to undercover the nuances of race, culture, and gender in the overlooked areas of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. As a young, but noticeably passionate journalist and author, she's already written detailed features on South Asian contributions to skincare to Sikh representation in beauty in American and Canadian media. Her work has appeared in InStyle, Women's Health, Byrdie, Chatelaine, An Injustice Magazine, and Medium.
Education
Roveena will be graduating in 2022 from Western University in London, Ontario, where she's pursuing a double major in media communications and Spanish.
