Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro are engaged! The musical couple just announced the happy news with the release of a music video from their first EP together R&R. The song "BESO" is a duet between the couple in Spanish all about their love for each other. Translated lyrics from the song's chorus say: "I need another kiss/One of those that you give me/Being away from you is hell/Being close to you is my peace."
The music video features quick videos of the couple from the time throughout their relationship, likely taken from cell phone camera footage. After the song ends, the video continues with a clip of Rosalía showing off a diamond ring and kissing Rauw with tears in her eyes as she says in Spanish, "Oh my god. I love you." The ring she wears in the video appears to be an oval-shaped ring with diamond trefoil side stones
The two musicians first sparked dating rumors in August 2021 when they were spotted leaving a restaurant in Los Angeles together. Rosalía and Rauw kept with the trend of confirming an official step in their relationship with a TikTok video in September 2021 where there couple held hands and made a heart shape together with their arms. The following day, the "DESPECHÁ" singer posted a series of photos for her 29th birthday on Instagram that also showed the two cuddling together. Two months later in November 2021, the pair made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Los40 Music Awards in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Not only have the couple made appearances on each other's social media, they also have become permanent fixtures on each other's bodies. Rosalía showed off a tattoo on the Spanish talk show El Hormiguero in March 2022 with the musicians' initials on her foot "RR." Rauw has also revealed that he had "Rosalía" tattooed on his stomach in handwritten font.
The couple's new album, R&R, is the first time the pair has collaborated on music. "For us, it's always love first and everything else later, but we skipped that this time so we could finish RR and share it with the world," Rosalía said in a press statement. "After more than three years, these three songs are here and each one of them belongs to a different stage of love."
Rauw also made a statement about their new EP release. "We always knew we wanted to do music together. However, with our relationship being the focus, we had to find the right time," he said. "A long time has passed by now and finding a way to fit all my feelings for her in three songs has been nearly impossible. This means I will be spending my days writing and writing many more songs about and with her. We're thrilled with this project. RR forever!"
