While it’s unclear exactly when the pair first met, Ryan Seacrest, disclosed on his radio show, “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” that RiRi made time to take in the rapper's Coachella set in-between hanging out with Katy Perry at the music festival—and then some. "The pair apparently got cozy in the VIP section, sipping on rum and champagne and flirting a little bit," Seacrest reportedly revealed.

September 2012: Making Sweet Music

Five months later, A$AP Rocky appeared on a remixed version of Rihanna’s single for “Cockiness,” putting his own 42-second spin on the tune.

September 6, 2012: A Very Public Display of Affection

If you mistook the musicians for a couple in A$AP Rocky’s 2013 music video for “Fashion Killa,” you certainly wouldn’t be alone—and that was kind of the point. The entrepreneur played the "Purple Swag" creator's love interest in the clip, snuggling up together and holding his hand throughout the 4:31-second mini-movie. According to the publication, fans spotted her and A$AP Rocky backstage at a Yams Day Benefit concert.

February 2020: More Than Friends

While initial reports indicated that the pair's relationship was purely platonic following Rihanna’s high-profile split from Hassan, the narrative quickly changed. Us Weekly reported that they had started “hanging out and hooking up" together. "They’re having fun and have always had chemistry,” a source told the magazine.

August 16, 2020: On-Screen Chemistry

The lovebirds' chemistry was palpable in a video posted to YouTube in August of Rihanna interviewing her rumored love interest for GQ. Beaming from ear to ear, the “Disturbia” singer asked revealing questions such as, “What’s the hardest part about working with me?”

In an earnest response, A$AP Rocky replied, “I think the hardest part about working with you is not goofin’ off and laughing the whole time. Like this sh*t is comedy. Before Christmas, the duo was spotted heating up the Caribbean on a Catamaran sunset cruise in Barbados. According to a source for the outlet, the makeup guru’s beau was there to spend the holidays with her and her family.

May 19, 2021: Relationship Official

By May 2021, there was no hiding the couple’s feelings for each other. A$AP Rocky shouted their love to the rooftops with his cover story for GQ. “The love of my life,” he referred to his significant other, calling Rihanna “my lady.” He also made it clear that he harbored no doubt about their future together. “I think when you know, you know. She's The One,” he said. “She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones.”

June 23, 2021: Sealed With a Kiss

The couple kicked off the summer with some heavy PDA. The singer wore a long pink jacket over an oversized button-down that proudly displayed her baby bump, adorned with gold jewelry.

It's a boy! Rihanna gave birth to the couple's first child, a boy, on May 13, 2022, in Los Angeles, People reports. Though the pair still haven't shared his name, Rihanna did share a photo of her adorable, smiley son on TikTok in December, Page Six reports.
