Shopping FAQs

Searching for a red dress your bridal party will love? We've answered three common questions brides-to-be have when shopping for this color.

  • Why should I choose red for my bridal party? “You can’t go wrong with red,” says Coleman. “It’s traditional, flattering on several different skin tones, and you can mix and match the different shades beautifully together.”
  • How do you accessorize red bridal party dresses? “If it’s a vibrant, bright red, go softer on the jewels. If you choose burgundy tones, gold or silver drop earrings would pair beautifully with [the hue]," suggests Wells. Coleman also adds that when in doubt, it’s always a safe bet to utilize neutral, metallic, or clear shoes and accessories.
  • How do I pick the best red hue for my bridal party? First of all, both experts suggest ordering swatches to see what hues draw your eye. And if you’re a fan of something unexpected, don’t shy away from it! “An apple red color is bright, but it would work very well in the right venue and setting such as a black-tie indoor ballroom or a wedding with a glam/casino feel,” explains Coleman. Wells adds that “we also see a lot of ombre color palettes incorporating burgundies to pinks. To play up the color, you can always mix the same shade of red in different fabrics to create texture in your bridal party look.”
