Peloton Instructor Matt Wilpers Is Married to Jessica Li

Peloton is a popular streaming workout with a loyal following, so it’s an exciting day whenever one of the instructors ties the knot and welcomes another member to the Peloton community. On February 3, 2023, Peloton instructor Matt Wilpers married Jessica Li in Nicaragua, according to the exercise app’s news website, Pelo Buddy. Many other Peloton instructors attended their nuptials, such as Emma Lovewell, Olivia Amato, Ally Love, Jess Sims, Hannah Franklin, Christine D’Ercole, Tunde Oyeneyin, Kristin McGee, Hannah Marie Corbin, Denis Morton, Adrian Williams, and Alex Toussaint. Cody Rigsby even joined the wedding party as the “flower girl,” and he nailed the part in bright floral pants.

The groom documented the big day on his Instagram Stories. Based on his posts, the spin coach wore a blue suit and black bow tie for the occasion, while his bride donned a strapless mermaid gown featuring floral lace and beaded appliqués with heart-shaped sunglasses. From the photos, it appears that the couple walked down a grass aisle lined with floral arrangements and traded vows beneath a floral chuppah. 

Many of the Peloton coaches also posted photos and videos from the wedding weekend. Toussaint shared a carousel of photos from the festivities on Instagram. The first slide shows a video of the coach strutting in a beige suit, followed by a sweet snap of the bride and groom sharing a kiss at their ceremony. The next clip reveals details from the reception and shows the groom breaking it down on the dance floor. The series of photos also gives a deeper look at the trip, which seems to include beach outings, basketball games, and lounging in robes. “Matt & Jess 🖤🌊👑,” the caption reads.

Amato posted a similar roundup on her Instagram account. Some of the images show the instructor posing with her husband, Daniel Waldron, while rocking a long-sleeve sparkly beige dress. Most of the photos show the Peloton team smiling and celebrating the newlyweds at the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. One image shares a look at the décor, which appears to be a cocktail napkin engraved with a drawing of the bride and groom and their dog. “Nicaragua with these shining angel humans to celebrate @itsjesswei & @mattwilpers ‘s beautiful love story 🧡✨🌈 ,“ she writes.

Many of the Peloton team members showed off their athleticism and rhythm by performing a choreographed dance at the wedding. Lovewell posted a video of herself, Corbin, Rigsby, and Love performing a number in the middle of the pool while clad in bathing suits. “When @mattwilpers asks you to learn choreography for his wedding, you learn THE CHOREO,” she says. 

The newlyweds first announced their engagement on May 20, 2022 on Instagram. The cycling coach popped the question on the beach in Nicaragua, the same spot they wed. “So about that last surf trip to Nicaragua," his caption began. "@itsjesswei, I love you and I look forward to our future together. Thank you for these memories and for the countless others from the past 3+ years ❤️.” Alongside the image of the proposal, the trainer commemorated their relationship by highlighting some throwback photos, such as a ski trip and a surfing date.
