Who Is Carter Reum? Meet Paris Hilton’s Husband

Paris Hilton and Carter Reum tied the knot with a lavish and star-studded wedding in November 2021. On the big day, the bride wore no less than four designer outfits. Now that’s iconic.

So, who is Carter Reum? He and the reality star and DJ have been dating since November 2019. They met through mutual friends and made their red carpet debut at the Golden Globes at the start of 2021. Paris calls him “soulmate,” but what else should you know about him? We’ve done the research and have compiled all the things you should know about the hotel heiress’s husband.

He Went to Columbia University

The businessman and entrepreneur received his B.A. in both Economics and Business/Managerial Economics from the Ivy League school in 2003. And he wasn’t the only member of his family to receive their degree from the private elite school. Both his brother Courtney and sister Halle also graduated from the University in New York City.

He Co-Founded an Investment Firm

According to Vogue, Reum is a venture capitalist who founded the investment firm M13 that was created to assist and provide resources for startup businesses. 

And the firm has backed quite a few successful businesses, including Lyft, Pinterest, Snapchat, Daily Harvest, Rothy’s just to name a few.

He Works With His Brother

Reum and his brother Courtney Reum co-founded M13 together, but this wasn’t the first time the brothers worked together. At the beginning of their careers they both worked for Goldman Sach’s, but in different divisions. (Carter was in the Investment Banker Industrials Division.)

In 2007, they founded VEEV Spirits, the first carbon neutral spirit brand distilled from Idaho Winter Wheat and infused with Acai (1 percent of sales are also donated to Rainforest preservation and other environmental causes). The brothers sold the company in 2016 and went on to work on their next project — which brings us to our next topic.

He’s an Author

In 2018, he and Courtney co-wrote Shortcut Your Startup: Ten Ways to Speed Up Entrepreneurial Success, a best-selling book filled with advice for aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs.

They Met Through Friends

The two made their public debut as a couple last year at the 2020 Golden Globes InStyle and Warner Brother's afterparty. According to E! News, Reum ran with Gwyneth Paltrow’s circle of friends, and a source told the publication that Reum and Hilton met through mutual friends.

He's a New Dad

On January 24, 2023, the couple announced that they welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, via surrogate. Paris shared the news on Instagram, which included a photo of the new mom holding her son’s hand. “You are already loved beyond words 💙,” she captioned the sweet snap. The multi-hyphenate gushed about the couple's excitement to raise a child together. “It's always been my dream to be a mother, and I'm so happy that Carter and I found each other," she told People. "We are so excited to start our family together, and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy."
