OITNB's Emma Myles Asked Costar Lea DeLaria To Officiate Her Wedding

When Orange Is The New Black actress Emma Myles marries her fiancé Darcy Cadman this summer, she'll have a little help from a fellow castmate. Myles confirmed that OITNB costar Lea DeLaria will officiate her rooftop wedding, and she couldn't be happier!

"Having Lea officiating the wedding means the world to me," Myles shared exclusively with Brides. "Lea is family, and for a day that is about love and family and friends all coming together, I can’t think of a more perfect choice. I can’t think of a more perfect choice. I know we’ll be in good hands."

The pair's friendship began on set seven years ago, and has flourished while filming seven seasons of the hit Netflix show. In fact, Myles, who plays inmate Leanne Taylor on-screen, revealed that DeLaria, who plays Carrie "Big Boo" Black, was actually her first friend on set. "Lea was the first person I met on my first day of shooting Orange," she said. "I was so nervous but the second we met, she broke the ice by immediately making fun of me while I got my Leanne teeth on. I knew then that we were going to be friends, and she’s been one of my nearest and dearest ever since.""

Asking DeLaria to officiate her wedding seemed to be an easy choice for Myles, who felt confident that DeLaria would bring her own personality to the ceremony. "When we’re together, all we do is go back-and-forth at each other and laugh and have a great time and that’s the kind of joy I want surrounding the day of the wedding," she said. "I know I can trust her to bring humor and energy and the showbiz nature that lives inside her."

In fact, officiating the vows will not be DeLaria's only duty at the wedding. Myles and her fiancé are planning to surprise their guests with a late-night snack spread of wings and tater tots from Hooters and have enlisted DeLaria to deliver the news. "We’re definitely having her announce the Hooters girls coming out with wings and tots for our late-night snack surprise," Myles said. "She’ll kill the DJ if he tries to steal her thunder on this. Lea is VERY serious about Hooters—as we all are!" Fans of Myles know that she is a New York Rangers fan and often celebrates a Rangers win at the Hooters across from Madison Square Garden.

With the wedding date closing in, last-minute preparations are well underway for the actress. She shared a photo of her and her soon-to-be-husband applying for their marriage license last week with the caption, "Peep my stories for the full story of this truly crazy day that almost ended with us not being able to apply for our marriage license BUT IT ALL WORKED OUT." The picture also reveals her stunning emerald-cut sapphire engagement ring.

While Myles didn't share if any other OITNB castmates made the guest list, we hope the rest of the Litchfield crew will see her say "I do!" Besides, the cast just celebrated the final season of the show last week so what better excuse to reunite again? Either way, with DeLaria officiating and chicken wings on the menu, Myles's wedding is sure to be a memorable one.
