Congratulations are in order for Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev, who tied the knot this weekend. Bella announced the happy news on Instagram.
While she didn't share specific details about the big day, Bella did announce that her "entire journey" would be shared in a four-part television series with the E! network. In the second photo, the newlyweds pose with the Eiffel Tower in the distance. E! News confirmed that the pair tied the knot in Paris, surrounded by a small group of family and friends, on August 26, 2022.
The news of a wedding shouldn't come as a total surprise to fans: Earlier this year, Bella announced that she and Chigvintsev would wed before the end of 2022. "We've set a wedding date," the bride told Us Weekly in April. "I'll give you a hint that it's fall 2022. Very soon." That news came after several postponements, which were largely due to the ongoing pandemic. In November of 2021, Bella told Entertainment Tonight, "The one promise I made [Artem] before we can plan, is that his parents can attend, and with where the world's at right now and trying to get two Russian parents into the country, it's almost impossible. So, the day I can get two visas, is the day we will set our date and say, 'I do.'"
Bella and Chigvintsev, who share a son, Matteo, first met in 2017 when they were partnered on Dancing With the Stars. In 2019, their friendship turned romantic and Bella confirmed their relationship during the season finale of her show, Total Bellas, in March of 2019, Us Weekly reports.
Chigvintsev proposed in France in November of 2019, but the pair kept the news quiet until early the following year. "I said yes in France in November! We have been trying to keep it a secret but really wanted to share our excitement for the New Year!" Bella captioned her announcement post.
