New York Knicks Star Jalen Brunson Proposed on His High School Basketball Court

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is going to get married! The professional basketball player and his long-term girlfriend Ali Marks are engaged. The couple announced the news on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 with a joint Instagram post, which they captioned “forever.”

The athlete went back to his roots to pop the question. The proposal took place on the basketball court of Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where the duo first met when they were students. 

Marks took to Instagram to reveal more details about the sweet engagement. She posted a series of photos, which showcase Brunson getting down on one knee at center court in front of a floral arch while surrounded by a sea of white roses and candles placed in the shape of a heart. She captioned her post, “you are a lifetime.”

According to TMZ, the couple visited their alma mater because Brunson was getting inducted into the high school’s Hall of Fame. So, it was the perfect nostalgic excuse to ask for his girlfriend's hand in marriage.

After Brunson finished playing basketball at Adlai E. Stevenson, he was ranked number 16 on ESPN’s 2015 Top 100 recruiting list. He went on to play college basketball for Villanova University. Once the athlete graduated, he started his professional basketball career. He played four NBA seasons with the Dallas Mavericks before signing a contract with the New York Nicks in June 2022, according to ESPN.
