The name Monique Lhuillier is almost synonymous with wedding gowns. Lhuillier has dressed everyone from Michelle Obama to Lauren Conrad and is one of those designers who will forever be the pinnacle of bridalwear. Now she's foraying into the beauty space with the launch of her first fragrance, Monique Lhuillier Eau de Parfum.

"I’ve wanted to do a fragrance for many years—it’s like the missing link in my brand," Lhuillier tells Brides. "I've always said it’s the final accessory after you get dressed." The eponymous fragrance took about a year to develop, and Lhuillier worked with perfumer Maurice Roucel to find the perfect balance between sweet and sensual.

Staying true to her brand and using flowers as her North Star, the fragrance has notes of bergamot, freesia, rose, and lily of the valley. "Everything I do has a floral inspiration to it," Lhuillier says. "What I hope to do with the fragrance is what I hope to do with my dresses, which is make [women] dream."

What I hope to do with the fragrance is what I hope to do with my dresses, which is make [women] dream.

In fact, she even pulled inspiration from her dresses when designing the bottle and packaging. "I chose to do it in blush pink because that’s a signature color for my work and I have it woven throughout all my collections," Lhuillier says. "I pulled elements from embroideries of dresses I’ve done in the past, but I didn’t want to have it so bold so I used it as a texture instead of a pattern."

Monique Lhuillier Eau de Parfum is available now in three sizes, including travel size, at Monique Lhuillier flagship salons, select Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor and Von Maur locations, and online.
