Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry have a love story for the books. After their chance encounter at an after-party for the Black Keys in 2013, it was love at first sight for the Whiplash star. “I told my buddy, ‘I think I’m going to be with this girl for a long time,’” he told People in 2017. Ever since that first meetup, the couple has showed an unbreakable bond: They've been going strong for nearly 10 years and already have over three years of happy marriage under their belts. They’re even pet parents to their French bulldog, Bugsy.

Throughout Teller’s successful career as an actor, Sperry has always been his number one fan. 2013: First Meeting

Teller and Sperry first crossed paths in 2013 at a Grammys after-party for the Black Keys. The Spectacular Now actor opened up about the fateful encounter during an interview with Vogue in 2019. “Keleigh had caught my eye early in the night, and we talked,” he reflected. “I didn’t think it went well, but after a few more attempts, I got her to dance with me, and a week later, we went on a date. After we met, I knew she was the one.” That May, they started officially dating.

March 16, 2015: A Supportive Girlfriend

At the premiere of his film, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, the actor expressed how juggling his relationship and his career is seamless thanks to his girlfriend’s unwavering support. "It's been pretty easy because right now, her full-time gig is kind of being with me, and before her, I would never invite a girl into that world because I didn't think I could have both," he admitted. "She's allowed me to be able to really focus on acting and do what I want to do. She can come to set and visit me and hang out and doesn't really distract me from it."

August 20, 2017: A Safari Proposal

While the couple was on a safari in South Africa, Teller got down on one knee and asked the ultimate question. According to People, Teller tied a rose to a tree with a note that read, “May 11th, 2013-August 20th, 2017." While proposing, Teller reportedly told Sperry, “This was the first day that I asked you to be my girlfriend, and today was the last day you woke up as my girlfriend,” according to the publication. The moment was touching for Sperry. "I'll never get the image out of my head of him down on one knee with a tear in his eye,” she told the outlet. “He really thought about every detail and was so nervous!"

The model-actress later posted about the romantic occasion on Instagram. “Africa ❤️💍,” her caption said. She uploaded photos of the safari and a close-up shot of her stunning sparkler, a princess-cut diamond ring.

February 21, 2019: Birthday Festivities

For Teller’s 32nd birthday, Sperry arranged a romantic dinner for two at a restaurant. She documented the outing on social media with an image of the duo smiling in front of a special dessert and one of them sharing a peck on the lips. “Happy birthday my angel❤️,” she wrote.

September 1, 2019: Saying “I Do”

On September 1, 2019, the pair traded vows at a Catholic church in Maui, a nod to the Sperry family’s annual trip to Hawaii. The bride strode down the aisle in a lace Monique Lhuillier A-line wedding dress and accessorized with her mother’s necklace for her “something borrowed.” The groom sported a classic tuxedo. After tying the knot, they hosted a reception at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, and Sperry upgraded her wardrobe with a figure-hugging dress featuring a cowl neck and an open back. 

September 1, 2020: Marking One Year of Marriage

For their first wedding anniversary, the couple commemorated the milestone by enjoying an island getaway. Teller showed off the scenic views on Twitter. “Happy 1 yr anniversary to my all-time love @keleighsperry,” his tweet said. “You and me til the end, baby.”

December 21, 2020: A Thriving Relationship

In a cover story interview for Men’s Health in 2020, Teller said quarantining with Sperry during the pandemic helped deepen their connection. “We just hang out,” he said. “She keeps me calm. It's pretty great. I'm with her now from when I wake up to the moment I go to bed. We have a lot of friends whose relationships got put under a magnifying glass during these times, but we are really great. Once you get married and you make that ultimate commitment, life is just a lot less stressful. You just know that person is always going to be there."

February 14, 2021: A Heartfelt Valentine’s Day Post

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Sperry dedicated an Instagram post to her husband. “8 years of being your valentine,” she wrote. “I love you the one I want to go through time with.” Alongside the caption, she posted a carousel of photos taken throughout the couple’s relationship, including a new wedding photo of the newlyweds smiling and holding hands during the recessional. 

September 1, 2021: Hitting the Two-Year Mark

To celebrate two years of marriage, Teller posted a tribute to his wife on Twitter. “2 years ago today, I married the woman of my dreams,” he gushed. “There isn’t a day that goes by where I’m not reminded of how much I truly love and adore you. Thank you for your kindness and unconditional support, Keleigh. I would be lost without you.” Along with the sentimental message, the War Dogs actor posted a throwback photo from their nuptials, which shows Teller kissing his wife’s forehead while they look out at the ocean.

May 4, 2022: Packing on the PDA

To support her husband’s role as Bradley Bradshaw in Top Gun: Maverick, Sperry joined Teller at the premiere of the movie in San Diego. The couple treated it like a date night, sharing a passionate kiss on the red carpet. They also attended the film’s premiere in London later that month. 

July 27, 2022: A Romantic Trip

Teller and Sperry jetted off to Hawaii for some rest and relaxation. The model filled her Instagram followers in on the details, which included plenty of boating, golfing, and sushi. “I like your cinema 🌱🌈🌺,” her caption said.

September 1, 2022: Married for Three Years

Three years after they tied the knot, Sperry celebrated their anniversary by posting a roundup of moments they shared as a couple. The model included a few wedding photos, such as an image of the bride and groom getting into a convertible before the ceremony, a picture of the newlyweds on the dance floor at their reception, and a solo shot of the bride in her veil while getting ready. “Happy anniversary my love, we stay rock n roll’n 🥂🕺🏻🫶🏻,” she said. 

October 2, 2022: A Proud Wife

After Teller hosted Saturday Night Life for the first time, Sperry expressed her support on social media. “I adore you, I miss you,” she gushed in the caption. She also thanked a few of the cast members. “Thank you for making this week what it was @rebeccaannes @colinjost @fayedunaway etc. you make dreams come true🎉🥹🥂❤️‍🔥🕺🏻.” 

February 2, 2023: Their Super Bowl Commercial Debut

The couple—along with their beloved pet bulldog—will star in a Bud Light commercial, which will air during Super Bowl LVII on February 12. On February 2, the actor shared some behind-the-scenes details about the process with People. “There’s a lot of improv,” he told the outlet. “We did go to rehearsal just to be professional about it, but in the back of my head, I was kind of figuring…I kind of knew the moves I wanted to do.” 

He also mentioned that filming a Super Bowl commercial was a huge accomplishment for the two of them. "It's really been an incredible year for both Keleigh and I, not just professionally but personally,” he stated. “So, when Bud Light came and wanted us to be a part of a Super Bowl commercial, I mean, that's the top of the mountain as far as these things go. We always look forward to watching them."
