Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert may not know when and where they're tying the knot, but they do have a good idea about the entertainment for the big day. On Monday, October 24, 2022, the Dancing With the Stars choreographer revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Michael Bublé wants to perform at the nuptials. During the interview, Hough told the story about how the Canadian singer signed up for the special role before starring as a guest judge on the hit franchise.
“Yesterday, in rehearsal, he literally walked up, and he had this beautiful newborn baby in his hand,” Hough said. “But he was like, ‘Hey, when are we getting married?’ And I was like, ‘Uh?’ And he was like, ‘Where? Where is it going to happen?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know yet!’ He was like, ‘Well, whenever it is, I’m there.’ So, it’s done. It’s a beautiful thing.”
The three-time Emmy winner is thrilled about potentially having the “Haven’t Met You Yet” singer serenade him on his big day. Can you blame him? It's not just his soothing voice that's made Hough excited; in addition to saying that the musician is “such a good dude,” Hough explained that Bublé's music has made a huge impact on dance. “I said it in the show tonight, but his music has been so important to the dance community,” the choreographer shared. “It’s just fantastic. It’s always hard to find good music to dance to, and he’s always provided, year after year.”
Entertainment Tonight also talked to Bublé about his plans to sing at Hough and Erbert’s wedding. “I think it’s real,” the singer confirmed. “Hailey and Derek, those are my people. Anything they ever want, I’m there.”
Hough and Erbert first started dating in 2015 while they were both on Dancing With the Stars. They kept their relationship under wraps until 2017, when they announced their status on Instagram. In June of 2022, the couple got engaged. The couple plans on tying the knot relatively quickly, according to People. “I don’t think either of us want a super long engagement,” Erbert said. “I just don’t think it fully makes sense. We waited to get engaged. It’s like we’re just ready for that next chapter of our lives.”
