Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a love story for the ages. From raising two beautiful children to supporting one another amid public scrutiny, they’ve proven time and time again that their bond is indestructible. The couple has even navigated the workforce together as co-workers, and again, their relationship has only grown stronger.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are co-owners of Archewell, a nonprofit organization that they launched in 2020. In an exclusive interview with Variety, which was published on October 19, 2022, Meghan disclosed what it’s really like to work with her husband.

When asked what an ideal project is for the charitable initiative, Meghan told the publication that love is the foundation for everything she and Harry do. “So much of how my husband and I see things is through our love story,” she shared. “I think that’s what people around the world connected to, especially with our wedding. People love love. I’m not excluded in that sentiment. And our definition of love is really expansive: Partner love, self-love, the love of community and family. We use that as the baseline of the kind of shows and documentaries we want out there.”

The actress-turned-royal even unpacked the behind-the-scenes of a typical workday for the husband-wife duo. Meghan explained that, much like other couples, the two began working from home together during the pandemic. That shared office actually happened to be a blessing in disguise. “It allows us to have significant time with our kids at this really special moment in their lives,” she said. “We’ll never get this time back.”

After Meghan gets Archie and Lilibet ready and set up with breakfast, she starts her workday with Harry. “We do a lot of joint calls and Zooms but also try to divide what we can focus our energies on, so we can accomplish even more,” she revealed. She also shared details about her husband’s communication habits. “He’s very good at responding on text,” she said. “Me, I try to be as fast as possible on email. I’ve always said, if it takes less than five minutes, do it now.”

Meghan even went into detail about taking snack breaks on the job, which is a necessity for the duo. After driving to Los Angeles for a day of meetings, the couple brought “chocolate chip cookies the size of my toddler’s head,” she recounted to Variety. Harry’s favorite afternoon pick-me-up? In-N-Out. “There’s one at the halfway point between L.A. and our neck of the woods,” Meghan explained. “It’s really fun to go through the drive-thru and surprise them. They know our order.”
