Jessica Mulroney, the stylist and close friend of Meghan Markle, knows a few things about weddings. Not only was she reportedly behind the scenes during Markle's royal celebration, she's also a regular wedding and style guru on Good Morning America. On Tuesday, she shared the top wedding trends she's observed in 2019 so far and offered advice for how to pull them off.

"The really fun thing about bridal in 2019 is that anything goes," Mulroney said. "People are really doing what they want and it’s great."

Mulroney noted all of the styles she's been observing in dresses, food, decor, and more. She explained that she's seen a lot of people embracing buffet-style grazing stations instead of canapés and traditional hors d'oeuvres, and she shared that locally sourced foods, customized and specialty cocktails, and dessert trucks are also very in at the moment.

"At the end of the night, it's not just about having your cake," Mulroney said. "It's about also having an ice cream truck."

Mulroney also sad that she's noticed natural greenery incorporated into everything, from table settings to full sites.

"Grass is really big right now," she said, adding that she's seen a lot of traditional decor, such as high-tapered candles, surrounded in leaves and lush plants. She's also a fan of Lucite, rose gold, or gold.

Mulroney's bridal gown advice was to "never go too trendy."

"When you see your wedding dress in 10 years in a photo, are you going to love it?" she said. "Trends tend to not be something that we love 10 years down the road."

For brides who are having trouble narrowing down a perfect dress, Mulroney points out that two gowns are pretty common now.

"They want to have the appropriate dress to walk down the aisle in, which isn’t necessarily their style, but they still want to look and play the part of a bride," she said. "For their second dress, they want to do something a little more fun that reflects their personality."
