Love Is Blind is more than a game show, it’s a social experiment. In a world where hopeful daters are swiping left or right based solely on looks (thanks, Tinder), the Netflix hit dared to see what might happen if the opposite occurred: two people connecting without ever seeing each other.
The premise of the show? Contestants enter individual soundproof pods for 10 straight days with only each other's voices to keep themselves entertained. After three seasons of the show, the results are in, and newsflash, it’s a mixed bag. Some couples fell in love, some got engaged, some faced heartbreak, and some even walked down the aisle.
With season four on the horizon (it’s set to drop on March 24, 2023), we’re taking a look back at the show’s biggest breakout couples to find out whether or not love is truly blind.
Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton

Fans will be happy to know that season one vets Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton are still going strong as of March 2023. The pair, who tied the knot on November 16, 2018, after connecting almost instantaneously, were one of two couples from season one to officially say “I do." While it wasn’t all sunshine and roses, with Lauren telling Us Weekly that they went through a “difficult” period (“It could be a lot of pressure and I think we’re human. You know, we’re not love robots,” she explained), they have since found their footing. In fact, they released a joint book about their love, Leap of Faith: Finding Love the Modern Way, in June 2021, and celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary together in November 2022.
Amber Pike and Matt Barnett
Amber Pike and Matt Barnett were another season one success story, tying the knot in November 2018. Four years later, they’re still going strong, despite any TV drama that may have occurred with fellow cast member Jessica Batten. Pike and Barnett have since bought a house together and regularly post sweet tributes to each other on social media, with Barnett’s most recent post celebrating Valentine's Day.
"This past week for Valentine's Day, my gorgeous and amazing wife took me on an incredible adventure to Sedona, AZ," he gushed. "As we explored the stunning red rocks, breathtaking views, and rugged terrain, I couldn't help but be in awe of her natural beauty and adventurous spirit. She is truly a force of nature, and being by her side makes every moment feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you for always pushing me to be my best self, for being my rock, and for filling my heart with joy and laughter. You are my everything and I'm blessed to spend every day with you. #wcw"
Giannina Gibelli and Damian Powers

Giannina Gibelli and Damian Powers had one of the most shocking storylines of season one with Powers ultimately denying his fiancé at the altar during the show’s finale. Even more surprising, though, is that his hesitancy to say "yes" to their love didn’t end their relationship—at least not immediately. "We never stopped dating. The day of the wedding, after that whole big moment happened, I really just realized this is an amazing person and he was just speaking his truth," Gibelli would later tell ET of the incident.
By August 2021, however, they had officially gone their separate ways, in large part due to a feud that erupted after Powers invited pal Francesca Farago to an anniversary party for Love Is Blind without discussing it with Gibelli. “I am officially single," Gibelli told ET at the time. "Me and Damian haven't been dating for a couple of months now. I've moved on. I feel really, really good. I'm definitely at a really good place in my life."
It wasn’t long before she found love again, though, this time with Bachelorette alum Blake Horstmann. First linked in January 2022, the pair is still going strong and have been documenting their love life all over Instagram. As for Powers? He recently made an appearance on Netflix's Perfect Match, where he and Farago had a brief romance but ultimately did not end up together.
Jessica Batten and Mark Cuevas
Both Batten and Cuevas have found love since starring on Love Is Blind, just not with each other. After breaking up at the alter—a decision that Batten would later claim was a pre-planned, mutual decision between the exes—it was alleged that Cuevas may not have been entirely faithful during their time together. Needless to say, it wasn’t a match.
Cuevas moved on with his now wife, Aubrey Rainey, in the summer of 2020, and has since welcomed two children, sons Ace Anthony and Axton Anders. Batten, meanwhile, got married to Dr. Benjamin McGrath in 2022 and is expecting her first child.
Diamond Jack and Carlton Morton
While Jack and Morton’s love story started off sweet, with the pair getting engaged after emerging from their pods, it quickly turned sour when Morton revealed that he was bisexual. The disclosure ultimately proved to be too much for the couple to weather, with Morton later explaining to People, “I feel like we were met with some things that neither one of us really knew how to handle at that time and may not have handled that situation in the best way.”
Though the pair briefly reconnected in February 2020, even giving a joint interview about their turbulent experience, they had another falling out months later online, with Jack going so far as to block her former fiancé. Both Jack and Morton appear to be single as of press time.
Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes
Chase and Barnes may not have wanted to share a life together, but they decided to get to know each other nonetheless. “We were adamant about we’re not going to get married,” Barnes later revealed to People. “And really, the engagement was just to extend the experiment. And we were both committed to that.”
Still, Chase had hopes that they would continue to date following the show and found it difficult to stop communicating with her partner in crime. “I’d just talked to him for six-and-a-half weeks straight, and then I didn’t talk to him. So it was like I lost someone. It was hard,” she explained to the outlet. Unfortunately for her, though, Barnes wasn’t receptive—he failed to respond to a handwritten letter she sent him saying that she wanted to continue to get to know him.
Nonetheless, Chase holds no ill will, telling Barnes, who has since gotten married to Alexandra Garrison, in a joint interview: “I really do care about you and I do love you. And I know I love the person that you are—and I am so happy for you. And I know that everything happens for a reason, and it did work out the way it was supposed to.”
Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson
Ruhl and Thompson, who exchanged their vows on national television during the show’s season two finale, had their issues just like any couple. But, as they explained to Us Weekly in March 2022, they were working them out with the help of a therapist. “I think the biggest challenge for us was losing the structure of the show,” Thompson told the publication. “We quickly realized like, ‘Hey, two months ago, we weren’t married, we were single. Since then, we’ve met and married, we have friends, we have family, everybody—some people know, some people don’t.’ And so, it’s like, ‘How do you navigate these waters and how do you go from doing whatever you want two months ago to, like, being part of a family?’”
Ruhl, who struggles with anxiety, also said that their decision to seek professional help made things easier between the pair. “The harder we try, the more our therapist is a translator for us, the easier it becomes,” she shared, adding, “I just can’t wait for people to see the relationship that we have now.”
However, on August 21, 2022, it was reported that the couple filed for divorce after one year of marriage in Illinois, according to People. In an Instagram post in September (which has since been deleted), Ruhl wrote, "No matter what, I’ll always care for nick and appreciate our time together. Our experience together will always hold a special place in my heart. As a wise woman said - choose yourself."
Iyanna McNeeley and Jarrette Jones
Iyanna McNeely became Mrs. Jones at the conclusion of season two, with her new husband proudly proclaiming that he just “married the woman of his dreams.”
Soon after the show aired, the couple gave People an update on their timeline as man and wife, with Jones sharing that they were kicking it off in style. "The first thing on our agenda is to travel because we had talked about that in the pod so much, about how we just wanted to travel the world before we settle down again, having children," he told the publication. "Just so we can be out as a married couple with no strings attached, no bars, and just be ourselves and enjoy our time together."
However, on August 17, 2022, the couple announced via a joint Instagram post that they were separating and will begin the process of getting a divorce.
Shaina Hurley and Kyle Abrams
Hurley and Abrams’s connection fizzled out relatively early on after the Christian hairstylist changed her mind about accepting Abrams’s proposal due to his Atheism. She soon accepted another proposal, however, this time from restauranteur Christos Lardakis.
Abrams isn’t doing so bad, himself, though: He was reportedly spotted grabbing brunch at Lardakis’s Kanela Breakfast Club restaurant in Chicago with show alum, Deepti Vempati, in mid-March 2022. Abrams also expressed regret over the way his relationship with Vempati ended during the Love Is Blind season two reunion. “I should have asked Deepti to marry me,” he said. “I love her so much. She's the best.” And while Vempati and Abrams did attempt to date following the reunion, the pair ultimately decided to go their separate ways.
As for Hurley and Abrams? “We don’t really talk,” Abrams told Us Weekly in February 2022. “We don’t, uh, communicate. There’s nothing left.”
Deepti Vempati and Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee
While Deepti Vempati and Shake Chatterjee had a strong mental connection in the pods, it didn’t seem to translate physically for Chatterjee once they got a good look at each other. Deepti ultimately chose herself in the finale following several disparaging remarks about her fiancé's attraction for her.
According to Vempati, their romance quickly soured. “After filming had wrapped, I was under the impression that we could at least celebrate this friendship that we built cause we’ve gone through something so insane and that like no one else understands,” she shared on Nick Viall’s “The Viall Files” podcast. She added that “as the days unfolded after filming had wrapped, I just started to see more of his true character." Beyond that, Vempati said her former spouse-to-be wasn’t exactly sensitive to her feelings. “He was very outward about his dating, and we had just ended this engagement,”
While she told Elite Daily that she was single in March 2022, she admitted that there may be something afoot with Abrams (the duo did eventually try to date but later ended things). “Kyle and I, we are figuring it out,” she said. “There’s a lot on our plate right now. We’ll see what happens.” Vempati also shared, “Not a lot of people know that we had a really strong connection in the pods. I was really struggling to pick between Shake and Kyle.”
Chatterje, on the other hand, is focusing on his career, making the move to Miami and taking a break from his career as a vet to focus on endeavors in NFTs and Crypto.
Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen
While Lee and Jansen often provided the show with comic relief, there was nothing funny about the blowout fight that occurred the night before their wedding, one that ultimately saw them putting the brakes on the affair. Lee later revealed to Us Weekly that they tried to make it work following the show, but that it ultimately wasn’t meant to be. “Shayne and I are friends,” she said in early March 2022. “We did give it another shot after our wedding, so we did continue our relationship for several months and we parted ways after that. But we are friends right now and I wish him all the best.”
Weeks later, however, the publication reported that the former lovebirds had stopped communicating and unfollowed each other on social media. And as of March 2023, Jansen is a cast member on Netflix's Perfect Match, while Lee seems to be single and focusing on herself.
Mallory Zapata and Salvador Perez
While Perez and Zapata had fans swooning when he serenaded her with his sweet tunes, he called off their engagement before saying “I do.” Still, he admitted to Us Weekly that it wasn’t an easy choice. “I was a roller-coaster of emotions [at the wedding]. I was just feeling everything, and I really was trying to wrap my head around everything that we had been through together. I was really just kind of summarizing it in my head and I knew that at that moment of my wedding, I just wanted to make that choice with her,” he said, adding, “I wanted to see how I felt in that moment with her. It was a crazy day.”
Though the couple didn’t tie the knot, they did try to make it work after the cameras stopped rolling. “Mallory and I had a date afterward and we talked about everything,” Perez later told Us. “We got some closure on a lot of stuff and we just, we tried everything. We tried everything from a romantic standpoint and in that date, we just got our closure and decided to part ways. And since then, we’ve just checked in on each other and I wish her the best, and I have my respect for her, you know, and everything like that. We tried, we were vulnerable with each other and that’s all we can really do.”
Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux
One of the strongest matches from season three of Love Is Blind, Alexa and Brennon were a fan favorite due to their instant attraction, both in the pods and in person. After saying "yes" to each other in June 2021, the pair has since built a strong public following (in addition to a solid romantic connection), creating Instagram reels and posts about their relationship.
Alexa recently revealed to People that what truly makes their relationship work is their ability to be vulnerable and effectively communicate. "It really is just restructuring how you say things and how you go about it. Sometimes I'll just sit down and be like, 'Hey, I feel like lately I've been doing a lot of whatever,' or he will say that. And 'If you could just help out a little bit more, that'd be great,'" she explained. "We don't really have big issues. We're not perfect [and] also sometimes, we have a bad day."
The reality star further went on to say, "We both try to make each other's days easier [though] and I feel like that we just kind of lean on that. Especially if I know that he's having a really long day, I'll just do more and I'm not going to comment on it like, 'Oh, I did this.'"
Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton
Initially, Colleen and Matt seemed like an unlikely pairing, but as the season continued, the duo began to prove why the pods can work. Though the ballerina appeared to kick it off with Cole Barnett at first, it was Bolton who was able to steal Reed's heart.
Today, Colleen and Matt are still together and enjoying life as a married couple. "Thank you to this man for holding me up when I was not my best. Thank you for being my boulder as you promised to me in our vows. During the reunion, I was not okay given the negative commentary I had experienced. I’ll be honest in saying I let the internet tear me down and take the light away from me. Matt did not let this happen. He has done everything possible to put a smile back on my face and bring me back. I held onto him for support. He reassured me that I was going to be okay. Watching it all back and filming the reunion only brought us closer than we ever thought we could get. I can’t thank him enough for being there for me," she shared in an Instagram post in November 2022.
Zanab Jaffrey and Cole Barnett
Zanab and Cole's relationship is one that was extremely complicated, to say the least. After falling in love in the pods, things seemed hopeful for the duo who connected on many similar values and beliefs, including their faith. But after several twists and turns, such as Cole expressing his attraction for fellow cast member Colleen Reed, frequent arguing, and Cole's parents refusing to attend the wedding, Jaffrey eventually said "no" at the altar, declaring, "You have disrespected me, you have insulted me, you have critiqued me, and for what it’s worth, you have single-handedly shattered my self-confidence. And the messed up thing is I know love you, but love shouldn’t feel this way. I can’t marry you.”
As of March 2023, it doesn't seem as if Zanab or Cole are friendly or even speak to each other. "She played me, 100 percent she played me. She told me that there was a chance that we were getting married. She said she was 100 or 1,000 percent ready to marry me at that last date and then we talked off-camera and I let her know I wasn't ready to get married," Cole shared on the Lauren Interviews podcast, following the Love Is Blind reunion special.
Raven Ross and SK Alagbada
After a rocky start to their relationship, fans were hopeful that the pair would last and prove that love is actually blind. Even with dealing with the pressures of being a long-distance couple, Raven was happy to say "yes" to the love of her life when standing at the altar. Unfortunately, SK had different plans.
Despite SK revealing that he wasn't ready to marry Raven, the couple decided to still make things work, officially announcing that they were dating again at the season three reunion and later getting engaged for a second time. “We’ve been working on [our relationship]. And he’s just such a beautiful person, so we’ve been giving each other patience,” Raven shared with US Weekly about SK, “It’s been great.”
However, in November 2022, the duo reported that they were parting ways following several SK cheating allegations. In a joint statement released on Instagram (which has since been deleted), the pair wrote, "We are saddened to announce that we have decided to go our separate ways. Due to the on-going legal proceedings surrounding these allegations, we can not provide additional details and ask that you please respect our privacy during this hard time." The pilates instructor also personally addressed the split during the Love Is Blind: After the Altar special, sharing in a teary video, "That really sucks. Since then, a lot has changed. My world is completely different because SK cheated on me and now our relationship is over."
Nancy Rodriguez and Bartise Bowden
During the season three finale, fans anxiously watched to see whether Nancy and Bartiste would say "I do." Though Rodriguez "yes" at the altar, Bowden ultimately said "no", which then lead to a heated exchange between Nancy's mom, her brother, and Bartiste.
However, even after all the drama, the duo did try to remain friends, though Nancy has since decided to move on from this chapter in her life. "I would hope that Bartise and I could be friends at some point and later on in life, maybe in his 30s, we can be friends. But I don't see the benefit of us being friends at this point," she shared with People. As for Bartiste, he recently made an appearance on Netflix's Perfect Match but seems to be single as of press time.
