2010s: A Chance Meeting

While it’s unclear exactly when Lori first laid eyes on her beau, they’ve been on each other’s radar for some time now. “We met actually a few years ago,” she told Bustle in June 2021. “We had some mutual friends. I think we met out, just in passing.” Her first impression? “I was like, ‘He’s cute!’” she recalled.

November 24, 2020: Holiday Retreat

Cut to a few years later, and the duo had not only reconnected but fell in love. Michael was spotted deplaning a Delta flight alongside Lori in her hometown of Atlanta on Thanksgiving Eve, indicating that they may be spending the holiday together.

December 30, 2020: Snow Bunnies

One day before New Year’s Eve, the Black Panther star and the model were photographed traveling together once more, this time to snowy Salt Lake City, Utah. According to E!, both Michael and Lori also posted photos of themselves snowboarding shortly after touching down.  

Jan 10, 2021: Letting the Cat Out of the Bag

By 2021, the fledgling couple couldn't hide their feelings any longer. They posted what appeared to be coordinated “announcement” photos to their Instagram accounts on January 10, 2021. Michael’s post, which has since been deleted, featured one shot of him standing near the equestrian and another of them sharing a near-kiss. Lori, meanwhile, revealed a since-deleted collage that showed her cuddled up to the Creed II star.

January 13, 2021: Birthday Girl

Just days after making their social media debut, Michael doubled down with a second tribute to his new lady love in honor of her birthday. “10:10 HBD,” he captioned a photo of himself posing back-to-back with the social media starlet. The post also contained an adorable video of the pair frolicking together in the snow. 

January 2021: Getting Flirty

The 2018 Emmy nominee commented on a series of sexy photos that Lori posted to her Instagram page in mid-January. “Gimme!” Michael reportedly wrote, adding, “Sheeesh!!” He also revealed his pet name for her at the time: “Turtle!”

Later that month, she returned the favor, commenting “Mine” on a gratuitous shirtless snap of People's reigning Sexiest Man Alive.

January 19, 2021: Heating Up

The pair upped the ante in January 2021 with a sunny vacation to St. Barts, where they posted plenty of loved-up pics and videos to their Instagram Stories. In addition to catching rays (and sharing smooches) from the deck of their yacht, the lovebirds enjoyed plenty of water sports during their downtime, snuggling up together on a personal watercraft and lounging on a floating raft.

January 22, 2021: Meeting the Fam

Lori’s famous step-dad first addressed Lori’s burgeoning romance during an episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show on January 22. "I like this one," he reportedly quipped, adding, "I still got my eye on him.”

 His affection for his daughter's new man didn’t exactly surprise Lori. “[The introduction] was good. It was easy,” she would later tell Bustle. “I knew they were going to love him, which they did.”

That was good news for Michael since, as Lori told the publication, her family’s opinion is of the utmost importance in her relationships. "I look for someone who is trustworthy and reliable, somebody that could be a good foundation and just stability for me. Somebody that has to be able to get along with my family,” she shared at the time. “I’m so close to my family, so my family is the deciding factor in if you're going to stick around or not. If they don’t love you, our time together will probably be short.”

February 9, 2021: The L-Word

Lori wrote the three little words that have the power to redefine a relationship in an affectionate birthday tribute to her man on February 9, 2021. “Happyyy Birthdayyy Nugget,” she gushed. “I love you, baby. Hope today has been half as special as you are.”

February 14, 2021: Pulling Out All the Stops

Michael, for his part, made it clear just how fast he was falling for Lori with an epically romantic stunt for Valentine’s Day 2021. Not only did he rent out an entire aquarium so that the two “could do a private tour and see the turtles,” he covered the floor of the institution with rose petals and candles for a scene that looked straight out of a rom com.

Later, the two retreated to a private luxury suite, complete with an inviting bubble bath and a rose petal-covered bed.

February 28, 2021: Catching Feelings

Michael had an important message to share with his Instagram followers on February 18, when he uploaded several professional photographs of himself with his significant other. “I love you, baby,” he gushed.

April 21, 2021: Owning It

Michael opened up about why it was important to share his relationship status with the world in April. “I'm still private, and I want to protect that, but It just felt like it was a moment of just wanting to put it out there and move on," he told People at the time, adding, "I am extremely happy."

Lori shared a similar sentiment with Bustle in June. “I think we’re both very private people naturally,” she explained. They’re very much in sync about which special moments they want to share with others. “We have a conversation about it, like, ‘You want to post this or we keep this to ourselves?’” she said. “[We want to] give just enough, but keep the majority of it just for us. We’re trying to find a balance.”

April 30, 2021: Laughs All Around

Michael revealed to ET in April 2021 that Lori had found her way to his heart through laughter. "A nice smile. And a laugh—a sense of humor is really sexy," he revealed. "[Lori’s] very funny. A lot of people don't know that about her.”

May 1, 2021: Showing Support

Lori and Michael celebrated the release of his Without Remorse film at home amid quarantine, getting dressed to the nines in two custom Prada looks as styled by Jason Bolden. “Without Remorse out now on Prime video!” the animal enthusiast captioned a series of stunning photographs of herself in a gold sequin gown and Michael in a sleek, double-breasted suit.

May 4, 2021: Sin City

The fashion veteran revealed that she and Jordan had taken a quick trip to Nevada in early May. The couple looked suave: he in a powder-blue corduroy suit and she in a gingham button-down, jeans, and sky-high stilettos. “17 hours in Vegas," read the caption.

June 28, 2021: Stepping Out in Style

The twosome stepped out for a fashionable lunch at Nobu on June 28, 2021, with Lori turning heads in a simple tee and a pair of lace-up jeans with side cutouts. Michael, for his part, kept things casual in a black Raiders tee and a pair of red-and-white basketball shorts.

Sunday, March 27: Their Red Carpet Debut

The duo made their first red carpet appearance together at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscars Party. The Black Panther actor donned a black tuxedo with a glossy finish while his model girlfriend turned heads in a sparkly strapless getup with a sheer skirt and a 3D design.
