Somebody notify the colonial woman on the wing—Kristen Wiig is getting married!
The Bridesmaids actress and longtime boyfriend Avi Rotham are officially engaged, People confirmed. The pair, who were first linked in 2016, have kept their relationship very much out of the public eye since they were spotted vacationing in Hawaii together three years ago.
While this is news to the world, this is hardly a breaking story for the couple. People also confirmed that Rotham secretly proposed months ago. Engagement rumors first sparked when Wiig was spotted wearing a diamond ring on that finger during a Booksmart screening in May. Turns out the sparkler was an engagement ring after all!
Her fiancé is an actor, writer, and producer who is best known for his work in Love, Sex and Missed Connections and Bunion. Rotham even studied at Groundlings theatre in Los Angeles; the same theatre where Wiig also trained.
The former Saturday Night Live comedian was previously married to actor Hayes Hargrove from 2005-2009. In 2011, Wiig told British Magazine Stella that she would never remarry. However, her views shifted in 2013 when she revealed to Cosmopolitan that marriage could still be on the table for her. "I believe if you're in a good, healthy relationship, there is nothing better. I don't have a specific stance on marriage. I think it's right for some people, and I know a lot of people who didn't believe in it, then they met someone," she told the publication at the time.
When it comes to wedding planning, we hope her experience goes a little bit more smoothly than her movie Bridesmaids (aka no Maid of Dishonor allowed!). Congratulations to the happy couple! Now we just one thing left to say: Can we get a better look at that ring, please?!
