Before Kardashian married Kanye West at Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy on May 24, 2014, the world wondered what kind of bridal makeup look the "queen of contouring" would choose to wear on her wedding day. A classic winged liner and red lip? A smokey eye with a nude lip? When you’re Kim Kardashian, every makeup look is wedding-worthy.
On the big day, however, Kardashian walked down the aisle wearing her signature look: a soft smokey eye topped with voluminous false eyelashes and dark eyeliner, sculpted cheekbones, and a pinky nude lip color. Makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic is partly responsible for crafting the classic Kardashian look—the two have been working together since 2008 when she was just a fledgling reality star—so it only made sense that he was the one to do her makeup on her wedding day.
The SKIMS mogul might be closing the chapter on her marriage to West, but her bridal beauty look is one that will be referenced and recreated for years to come. Want to look like a Kardashian on your wedding day? Below, we’ve got all the details on Kardashian’s wedding makeup, including a step-by-step guide for recreating the soft glam bridal look from celebrity makeup artist Kim Baker.

Kardashian’s wedding day makeup look included a luminous base, soft contour, warm smokey eyeshadow, and a perfect nude lip. A pair of voluminous false eyelashes added just the right amount of drama without completely overpowering the look. Kardashian is known for her drop-dead sexy looks, but on her wedding day, the bride looked like the best version of herself.
"Like the rest of the world, I waited with bated breath to see what Kim Kardashian’s makeup look would be," says Baker. "As an artist who has had the pleasure of working side-by-side with Mario in the past, I knew that he would deliver with flying colors—or should I say, the perfect wedding shade and products!"

Longtime friend and makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic has been part of Kardashian’s go-to glam squad since the star’s Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s days.
Dedivanovic told E! News that not only did the future Mrs. West not have a makeup trial, but she didn’t even provide her makeup artist with any creative direction or inspiration photos for her wedding day makeup look. Talk about trust.
"No photos. Kim just let me do my thing. So, I kind of created it on the spot," revealed Dedivanovic. "I saw the dress, we spoke about it, and she let me do my thing."
Over the past 13 years, Kardashian and Dedivanovic have formed a legendary creative partnership that has helped solidify Kardashian’s status as a beauty icon. From the trademark contouring and highlighting trend in the early 2010s to Kim’s legendary Met Gala looks, the pair have done nearly all of it exclusively together. After such a long, legendary history together, Dedivanovic was naturally the only person Kardashian would trust to take the lead on her bridal beauty beat.
The Inspiration

Dedivanovic’s vision for Kardashian’s wedding day glam was an ethereal, sophisticated version of Kardashian’s signature look—the look he helped define and perfect over the past decade.
"I didn't want to make too much of a statement with her makeup. We decided to go with something natural and timeless," Dedivanovic told E! News. "I wanted to go with something clean and classic—and I wanted her to look almost angelic."
Dedivanovic stuck to the Kardashian basics: warm-toned shadows, a subtle contour, false lashes, and peachy nude lips. So, we guess you can say the inspiration for this bridal beauty look was the bride herself. Truly iconic.
How to Recreate the Look
Kardashian’s elevated natural makeup look has become a popular style for brides who want to define and highlight their best features without looking too over-the-top glamorous. People gravitate to this makeup look over all the other makeup looks she’s worn on red carpets because it accentuates her natural beauty flawlessly. It’s a step above the "no-makeup" makeup look for the bride who wants to wear makeup on their wedding day—not have the makeup wear them.
Another perk of the soft glam look? It’s also way easier to recreate on your own wedding day. Below, Baker shares a step-by-step breakdown to achieve the iconic Kardashian face.
Step One: Apply Primer and Foundation
To prep your canvas for makeup, apply a long-wearing primer, like the Mystical Veil 2-in-1 moisturizer and primer by Glamazon Beauty, which is perfect for normal to dry skin. For a luminous complexion, Dedivanovic used Urban Decay's Naked Skin Liquid Foundation on Kardashian. "I went for radiant, dewy skin," said Dedivanovic. A foundation with a satin or natural, skin-like finish is the key to getting that effortless glow-from-within look.
Step Two: Add Dimension With Contour, Highlighter, and Blush
After complexion, Dedivanovic then used Urban Decay’s Naked Flushed Highlighter, Bronzer & Blush 3-in-1 palette to naturally sculpt her face, enhancing her cheekbones with contour and highlight and adding a pop of color with blush.
Step Three: Blend the Eyeshadow
Dedivanovic added depth to the eyes using warm-toned eyeshadows and liquid eyeliner on top of the lids. Baker walks us through the proper application technique: "Apply a medium brown in the crease and blend until the line in the crease looks seamless," she says. "Take a white shimmer eyeshadow and apply it in the very corner of the eye. Appy to the top and the bottom—this creates a glow in that inner V of the eye." Follow with a light bone shimmer on the brow bone.
Step Four: Define the Lower Lash Line
The subtle smokey eye comes from connecting the eyeshadow to the lower lashline. "Take a deep brown eyeshadow and line the lower under eye and smoke it out," says Baker.
Step Five: Go Big With the Lashes
"I enhanced her lashes—that was a big part of her look," shared Dedivanovic. He used individual lashes, which are more natural than strip lashes. Place the shorter individual lashes near the inner corner of the eyes and the longer lashes on the end for a natural cat-eyed look.
Step Six: Finish With a Glossy Nude Lip
Kardashian couldn’t walk down the aisle without her signature nude lip. Dedivanovic used L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire in the shade Nude Ballet and added a creamy peachy pink gloss on top for a natural shine.
