All eyes were on Kate Middleton yesterday when she arrived at the London premiere of the latest James Bond installment in a stunning sparkling gown alongside Prince William. And not only did her dazzling ensemble turn heads on the No Time to Die red carpet, but it also drew comparisons to a similar dress Princess Diana once wore to a different James Bond premiere.

The Duchess of Cambridge graced the carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in a custom Jenny Packham gown covered in dazzling beading and sequins that reflected the lights and flashes of the cameras. The dress included accentuated shoulders that flowed into a sheer, floor-length cape. Middleton paired the gown with gold diamond drop earrings and an intricate updo.

The duchess's gown was as meaningful as it was glamorous. The beaded dress paid homage to Princess Diana's iconic gown that she wore to the premiere of a film from the Bond franchise, A View To a Kill, in 1985. The Princess of Wales wore a shimmering silver pleated gown that glistened when she walked. The long-sleeved number also had exaggerated shoulders and a pleating pattern similar to the beading pattern on Middleton's dress.

This isn't the first time Middleton has channeled Princess Diana with a Jenny Packham gown. The duchess famously stepped out after giving birth to Prince George in a polka-dotted blue dress reminiscent of the one Princess Diana wore after Prince William's birth.

While the Duchess of Cambridge hasn't confirmed if her Bond premiere dress was a tribute to her late mother-in-law, it's hard to believe the similarity was simply a coincidence. Either way, it's a look that's as instantly iconic as Princess Diana's.
