The latest news to come out of quarantine? Jimmy Fallon and his wife Nancy Juvoven might be expert wedding planners! Why? Because in 2007, they planned an entire destination wedding in just three weeks.
The comedian and his producer wife revealed intimate details about their big day after a fan asked a question about their nuptials on Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show. The pair got engaged in August 2007 after dating for over three years and were anticipating a wedding the following summer. But once Juvoven started production on He's Just Not That Into You that fall and Fallon took on another project, planning was quickly put on pause.
"We're making these lists and lists and lists of people. And I'm like, 'I don't have any time,'" recalled Juvonen of the process. "We kept trying to talk to these wedding people, and they wanted to talk about napkins and things we just could not have cared less [about], really, on any level."
But when the couple was together for Thanksgiving that year, they had a wild idea. Fallon once told his travel agent that the couple's dream destination wedding venue was Richard Branson's Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands and sure enough, the famous private island became available that December.
"[My travel agent] goes, 'Richard's daughter is having a baby—his first grandchild. He's so excited, he's going to go be with her when she has the baby over Christmas,'" shared Fallon. "He goes, 'Richard is a fan, he likes you, so he'll rent you the island for two days, three days.'"
So the duo decided to get married on December 22, 2007 instead of waiting until the summer. "We had 12 people at our wedding. I just got a dress done as fast as I could. We didn't care," added Juvonen.
Now, 13 years later, the couple still wouldn't have had their wedding any other way. "We had a rager time," said Fallon. "It was so much fun."
