Jennifer Gates and Nayel Nassar had an absolute dream wedding in the countryside of Westchester, New York earlier this month, and we simply cannot get enough of the gorgeous photos. And just today, Jennifer shared another brand new photo from her nuptials that gave us a peek at Bill Gates's sweet reaction to seeing his daughter in her wedding dress.
In honor of her father's 66th birthday, Jennifer posted a touching message on her Instagram, along with a never-before-seen snapshot from her big day. "Happy happy 66th @thisisbillgates ✨ 🥳," she wrote in the caption. "Grateful to learn from your example of endless curiosity, constant exploration and desire to help humanity. Excited to hear about what you learn in this next turn around the sun 🤓 🗺"
"Thank you for your support of our union and dream day recently - these memories will last a lifetime 🤍," the caption continued. The photo appears to capture Bill's adorable reaction to seeing his daughter as a bride for the first time. In the picture, the Microsoft co-founder is looking lovingly at Jennifer while holding a small gift box tied with ribbon.
Bill expressed his thanks in a comment on the post, writing, "Thanks for the birthday wishes, Jenn! I’m so lucky to be your dad."
On October 16, 2021, Jennifer—the daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates and a former internationally ranked equestrian—tied the knot with Nayel Nassar, a fellow equestrian and Olympic athlete. The couple met through their mutual love of riding, so it only made sense that their nuptials were held on their sprawling equestrian farm. Fitting for an outdoorsy and athletic couple, the pair got engaged on one of Jennifer's favorite ski runs in January 2020.
In July 2021, Nassar participated in the Tokyo games, and Jennifer is a third-year MD student, so given their hectic schedules, the two recruited some help planning the grandiose occasion, starting with expert wedding planner Marcy Blum Events. The magical day was documented by renowned wedding photographer Allan Zepeda in stunning photographs that captured the couple's love and joy. Ahead, get all the details from their gorgeous fall nuptials.
For her special day, Jennifer chose not one but two ethereal dresses by Vera Wang Haute. The MD candidate wore an enchanting custom ivory long-sleeved, A-line gown down the aisle. The stunning dress was constructed of French macrame lace along the bodice and sleeves, and featured a flowy tulle skirt, which she paired with a tulle chapel-length veil, according to Vogue.
For her reception, Jennifer slipped into another dreamy gown by Vera Wang, featuring more macrame lace over nude tulle and a corseted midsection with nearly invisible boning. The A-line, square-neck dress was sleeveless, and had lace straps that mimicked stems and flowers. She completed the sophisticated look with a diamond necklace and matching stud earrings.
“Vera and her whole team were so wonderful to work with, and made my dream dress come true,” Jennifer told Vogue. “She is an icon in the fashion industry and a trailblazer as a woman who changed careers late and followed her passions. From our first meeting, I knew that I was in such good hands.”
Jennifer's glowing bridal look was executed by none other than Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian's longtime friend and makeup artist. The natural glam featured a dewy and flawless complexion with pink lips and rosy cheeks.
Her subtle makeup was paired with two hairstyles: a loose half-updo and gentle waves for the outdoor ceremony, followed by a tight, slicked-back look for the reception. Both styles were crafted by celebrity hairstylist Rolando Beauchamp.
The fairytale-esque nuptials took place at the couple's farm in Westchester County, New York for a subtle rustic autumn aesthetic set against color-changing trees. Extravagant floral arrangements, perfected by Rishi Patel of HMR Designs, lined the aisle and altar for the event, even hanging above the Stanford alums from a metal structure for the outdoor ceremony. The joyous couple posed in front of a rustic barn, wooden fences, and stone walls for gorgeous and bucolic photographs.
For the reception, they moved the party inside a spacious tent by production company Frost Chicago, where greenery and twinkling gold Edison bulbs hung from the ceiling to add a whimsical element. The tables were draped in forest green and royal blue velour cloths for a warm pop of color.
As the grand finale, the cake is just as important as any other part of the wedding, and can truly say a lot about the couple. These co-equestrians opted for a beautiful six-tiered ivory cake, adorned from top to bottom with floral arrangements.
According to event planner Blum, well-known cake designer Sylvia Weinstock "came out of retirement" to create this picturesque treat, which topped off the newlywed's night of extravagant celebration.
