We've said it before and we'll say it again: 2023 is the year of the wedding boom, and everyone seems to be getting involved in the fun—celebrities included. The latest A-lister to throw a major celebration? Jennifer Garner. The actress told Town & Country that she threw her third "wedding" (Garner was previously married to Scott Foley from 2000 until 2004 and Ben Affleck from 2005 to 2018) in April of 2022. The only catch? Garner didn't actually tie the knot, and there was no partner involved in the festivities. In fact, this wedding was for the sake of charity, not for love.

Garner did have a good reason for throwing the party, though. In April of 2022, the Yes Day star celebrated her 50th birthday and planned a celebration that she admits was on the same level as a wedding. The Adam Project actress revealed the details behind her birthday bash in a cover interview for Town & Country's November Philanthropy Issue. “I basically had a wedding for myself,” Garner joked. “I was so shocked that I was doing it.”

The big twist? “I put everyone to work,” Garner admits. During the celebration, the Once Upon a Farm co-founder had her guests help fill 5,000 backpacks with meals for families of four to support the Blessings in a Backpack program. "I have no reason not to be nice. My life is lovely," she added of the charitable celebration.

The birthday-party-meets-wedding-celebration wasn't all work, though. During the festivities, Garner says she and her guests danced to “Rocky Top” by the Osborne Brothers. As for how it became such a blowout event, HuffPost reports that the party was initially intended to be a family-focused affair, and Garner’s parents, siblings and nephews were set to fly in for the day. From there, it quickly “snowballed” into a larger celebration complete with all the bells and whistles.
