As a high-profile celebrity who lives in the limelight, Jennifer Aniston’s life is under constant public scrutiny—especially her relationships. After getting married twice and going through two public divorces, the Friends star has made her decision on remarrying, which she shares in an interview with Allure on November 9, 2022. “Never say never, but I don’t have any interest,” she reveals.

Although marriage might not be in the cards for Aniston, the award-winning actress says she is open to dating someone to have a partner to help her through difficult times. “I’d love a relationship,” she admits. “Who knows? There are moments I want to just crawl up in a ball and say, 'I need support.' It would be wonderful to come home and fall into somebody's arms and say, 'That was a tough day.'"

In 2000, after dating each another for two years, Aniston said “I do” to her first husband, Brad Pitt. At the time, they were the “it” couple in Hollywood, and Aniston said having a partner in the same industry grounded her. “I know that we have something special, especially in all this chaos,” Aniston told W Magazine in 2003. “In this nutty, brilliant, wonderful, hard business that we have, it’s nice to have somebody who’s anchored and knows you, really knows all of you.”

They were even thinking about having a child. “It's time,” she said in 2004. “You know, I think you can work with a baby. I think you can work pregnant. I think you can do all of it. So, I'm just truly looking forward to slowing down.”

Then, in 2005, Aniston and Pitt shocked the world when they split after seven years together. “This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration,” a joint statement read. “We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another. We ask in advance for your kindness and sensitivity in the coming months.”

Shortly after announcing their separation, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor moved on with Angelina Jolie, with whom he would have three children and adopt three more.

After her marriage with Pitt ended, Aniston dated Vince Vaughn and John Mayer before Justin Theroux swept her off her feet in 2011. The two tied the knot in 2015, which was a natural next step for them. "We felt married for so long," she said in 2016. "Married life is so normal and fun and not much different.” Three years later, they filed for a divorce. At the time, sources explained that their marriage didn’t last because Aniston wanted to live in Los Angeles while Theroux was interested in spending time in New York City.

In the interview with Allure, the actress notes that she underwent IVF and tried to get pregnant a few years ago (potentially during her marriage to Theroux), which was an intensive journey. "It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road," she tells the publication. "All the years and years and years of speculation—it was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.' You just don't think it. So, here I am today. The ship has sailed."

Aniston shares with Allure that the rumors about being selfish as the reason for not having children was hurtful. “I just cared about my career, and God forbid a woman is successful and doesn't have a child,” she says, reflecting on the rumors. “And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn't give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don't have anything to hide at this point.”

Despite the upsetting assumptions, Aniston doesn’t regret her decision. "I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, 'Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe,’” she admits. “I don't have to think about that anymore."
