While Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton have been together for over a decade, they didn't make things legally officially until October 5 when they wed during a secret, intimate ceremony in New York. For the nuptials, Burton turned to bridal designer Carol Hannah to create her wedding dress.
"I had such a blast working with Hilarie and her stylist Jeanne Yang on her gown," Hannah told Brides. "Hilarie and Jeffrey's love story is so touching, and it was such an honor to be part of their celebration!"
According to Hannah, Burton contacted her only a week before the October nuptials looking for a dress. "She came to us a month before the wedding with a clear vision—she didn't want anything that felt like typical bridal, which made us a perfect fit."
In the end, Burton and Hannah decided on a fit and flare strapless mermaid gown in a "watercolor feeling brushstroke pattern." Hannah described the dress as "architectural and edgy, unexpected and impactful, all in one," adding a thin handmade gold belt as a finishing touch.

In an Instagram post, the One Tree Hill actress revealed that she originally never wanted to wear a wedding dress. "I never wanted a wedding dress," she wrote. “I don’t want a white dress and I absolutely don't want a strapless dress! Then I met @carolhannahbridal."
After seeing photos of Burton on her wedding, however, we can't imagine her wearing anything else. The Supernatural actor wore a custom Joseph Abboud suit complete with a quilted floral peak lapel jacket, a chalk stripe double breasted vest and grey worsted flannel trousers.

Hannah didn't only have the honor of designing Burton's dress for the big day, but she also created a gown for the couple's daughter George as well. Using the same material as Burton's gown, Hannah made a custom look for the littlest guest of honor. "It was made of the same gorgeous silk organza fil coupe, and we did it in fun gathered tiers topped with big handmade flower petals," shared the designer. "A tiny little couture gown!"

The couple enlisted two of Morgan's co-stars to officiate the nuptials. According to his Instagram, Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead and Jensen Ackles from Supernatural had the honors of pronouncing the couple husband and wife. And, a few of Burton's co-stars were also present to witness the "party of the century," as Morgan described. The New York nuptials turned out to be a One Tree Hill reunion, with Burton's former co-stars Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Lenz, Colin Fickes, Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten, Barbara Alyn Woods, Kate Voegele and Daphne Zuniga making the guest list.
