The following month Gwen and then-husband Gavin Rossdale announced the end of their marriage after 13 years together. During their marriage, the couple welcomed three children: Kingston, Apollo, and Zuma. The couple also released a statement saying, "While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment."

October 27, 2015: Late-Night TV Performance

Gwen and Blake performed what would later become the first of many duets at the Billboard Music Awards in 2016. The couple took the stage to perform their song, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," which they wrote together.

July 28, 2016: "Gwen Saved My Life"

During his cover story for Billboard's August 2016 issue, Blake opened up about his early romance with Gwen and even credited the No Doubt sing with saving his life. "She didn't tell me much, because we didn't know each other at the time, but she said, 'I'm going through something very similar to what you're going through. I understand. And I hate it,'" Blake recalled after he shared news of his divorce with The Voice cast. "That's kind of how our friendship and bond started, that day. It went from that, to checking in on each other once a week through email—'This shit happened to me, what happened to you?'—to maybe three times a week, then every day, to 'Hey, here's my phone number if you ever want to text.' Just a year into their relationship, the singer and country musician were already the subject of engagement rumors. Even Ellen Degeneres asked Gwen about their wedding date, to which Gwen replied, "I'll let you know."

December 4, 2017: A Christmas Duet

Although not a coach on The Voice that year, Gwen made an appearance on the show to perform her holiday duet with Blake, "You Make It Feel Like Christmas." The song, which was initially written by Stefani, marked their second duet together. "She was so excited," Blake recalled to People of Gwen sharing the song with him for the first time. "I love seeing her that happy. She's so happy when she’s writing and just hearing that in her voice and how into it she was, I just couldn’t stop thinking about (it) so I got my guitar out and thought, 'I wonder if I could help her in some way?'"

April 10, 2018: More Wedding Rumors

When Gwen appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show in April 2018 to announce her upcoming Las Vegas residency, she was of course peppered with engagement and wedding-related questions by the host. "I'm just confirming what the tabloids are saying, which is that y'all are getting married," Degeneres joked. September 2019: Who Is Blake Shelton?

In September 2019, Gwen revealed to Andy Cohen that she had surprisingly never heard of Blake before meeting him on The Voice in 2014. “I can’t imagine before, I didn’t even know he existed, like before the show," she admitted. "I didn’t even know he was a human being on this planet, and I didn’t know much about country…He is literally a country jukebox. He knows every single song forever, he’s incredible like that. But I just love that we’re from different genres.”

January 21, 2020: Nobody But You

Blake and Gwen kicked off a new decade with the release of their third duet, "Nobody But You," which appeared on Blake's recent album, Fully Loaded: God's Country. The moving song (which was all about their love for each other!) was a quick hit with fans and topped the country music charts. On January 21, the couple performed the ballad live at the Grammy Awards.

July 24, 2020: They're Happy Anywhere

The couple quarantined together—an experience that became the inspiration for their latest duet, "Happy Anywhere." "Even though Gwen and I just had a single out we decided that, under the circumstances, this year...man, there’s never been a better time for 'Happy Anywhere,'" Blake said in a press release. Five years into their relationship, Blake and Gwen announced their engagement. "Yes please," Gwen captioned the Instagram announcement, which featured the couple kissing and the singer flashing her new bling.

April 2021: We Can Hear the Wedding Bells

Wedding bells could be in Blake and Gwen's near future. On April 1, Shelton joined Hoda Kotb as a surprise co-host on NBC News' Today With Hoda & Jenna and he revealed that he and Gwen might be tying to knot sooner rather than later: this summer.

"It looks like it may be OK, but I don't know. So, that's tentatively the plan. We'll see," he said. "I'm afraid if she and I wait until next November, then I'm right back into The Voice cycle again. And I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after."

And some of their musician friends may be playing at the wedding, like the couple's good pal Adam Levine, who said he'd be happy to play if he's asked (although he jokingly added that they "can't afford" him.)

“I'd love to be able to take everybody up on their offer and have this amazing concert wedding," said Blake. "But we're just waiting every day, just like everybody else, to see what our summer is going to look like and then go from there."

Blake and Gwen have officially tied the knot! The Voice costars married on July 3, 2021 in an intimate ceremony at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch. According to Page Six, the pair wed in a small chapel on the property that Shelton built for the occasion.

Stefani first sparked wedding rumors last month when she was seen wearing a wedding band on her left hand. Now, the union is official after nearly five years of dating and multiple romantic duets.
