After the engagement party to inspire all engagement parties, it's no surprise that bride-to-be Thassia Naves has again influenced us. The global influencer recently celebrated her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Artur Attie Akl with a Moroccan-inspired bridal shower in Brazil, and we're low key obsessed with the event's fashion, theme, and décor details.
While Thassia's engagement party was loaded with lush blooms in a pastel palette, her bridal shower took on a different tone with bright colors and intricate patterns inspired by Moroccan style. "I love Moroccan architecture and design," she says of the day's theme. And since her godmother, who hosted the party, adores Moroccan influences as well, it was only fitting that they bring a taste of Morocco to Brazil for the big event.
Thassia highlighted the pre-wedding event by incorporating elements of an actual wedding, including gorgeous tablescapes, signature cocktails, special dances—and even a cake! The only thing missing was a kiss from her groom, but he sweetly paid a visit at the end of the party to share his own congratulations. (Thassia treated Artur's visit as the perfect opportunity to reveal her second look!)
"I love the different textures, incredible craftsmanship, and the wonderful, bold prints and clashing colors that are so frequently used in Moroccan design," says the bride. Thassia's guests were immediately greeted with all of the above when they arrived at the venue: The outdoor space had been transformed into a Moroccan oasis with crimson-colored tents, mismatched chairs, statement pillows, and fresh flowers in more vibrant hues.
For the occasion, Naves donned a Dior maxi dress that, she says, came straight from the fashion house's Moroccan-inspired collection. Her hair was slicked back into a high bubble pony to mimic the "unique shape" of Moroccan architecture.
Dark hues, gold accents, and lots of candlelight created a moody, romantic vibe inside the venue. Dining tables were adorned with pink taper candles, textured linens, and arrangements of fuchsia flowers and fresh fruit to "enhance the atmosphere," says the bride.
Unlike many bridal showers, Thassia and her guests didn't play any games. Instead, they chose to drink, dine, and dance! "We had a big feast and lots of dancing to a live band and fun," she says. Notably, the patterned dancefloor coordinated with Thassia's printed gown.
To satisfy everyone's sweet tooth, Naves served a three-tiered Moroccan-inspired cake decorated with gold illustrations and fresh fruit. In addition to the elaborate confection, guests enjoyed other hand-painted delicacies that were almost too pretty to eat.
Naves opted for an outfit change mid-party, swapping her Moroccan-inspired maxi dress for a sparkly mini that also coordinated with the décor. At this point, Artur made a surprise visit to celebrate his bride!
We, too, are here celebrating—and can't wait to see what the happy couple has in store next!
