To Prevent Breakouts…

Contrary to popular belief, pimples don’t form overnight. In other words, if you have one coming to the surface, it's probably been brewing for a while underneath the skin. “The best way to prevent and treat breakouts is with a retinol,” suggests Dendy Engelman, M.D., a dermatologist at Manhattan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in New York City. A good over-the-counter one that she recommends to her patients is Differin Gel. If a pimple pops up the day before, you can also make a quick visit to your dermatologist for a cortisone shot. Whatever you do—don’t try and pop it on your own, or you’ll wind up scabbed and inflamed. Not a good look for your wedding day.

To Ditch the Peach Fuzz…

We all have it—little, fuzzy, sometimes-spiky chin and face hairs that drive us bonkers. Sure, we can wax them off, but not everyone remembers to schedule a waxing appointment with the other million to-dos they need to check off before the big day. Thankfully, there are some at-home solutions that are totally painless and take less than 10 seconds. (You're one busy bride, after all!) One is the Luminess Air Silk & Smooth hair removal tool. It uses sonic technology to remove unwanted hair by shearing the hair at the root. It’s practically foolproof and portable, so you won’t have to carry around bulky electric cords (just one battery!).

To Soften the Appearance of Fine Lines…

If fine lines suddenly appear overnight, it is possible that your skin is just dehydrated. (Too much champagne at the rehearsal dinner could've caused that!) To prevent this from happening, Dr. Engelman recommends applying an overnight mask the night before your big day, like Elizabeth Arden Overnight Firming Mask, and drinking plenty of water!

In the morning, she suggests replenishing with a moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid. "I like SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator, that contains five types of hyaluronic acid to keep skin plump throughout the day,” she says.

To Brighten Dull Skin…

Overnight brightening is tough, but not impossible, according to Amy McLain, aesthetician and director of education at Kenneth’s Hair Salons & Day Spas in Columbus, Ohio. She prescribes first exfoliating with HydroPeptide's Anti-Wrinkle Polish & Plump Peel. “This two-step treatment will brighten the skin with a vitamin C polish that you'll layer with a five-percent lactic acid gel on top to dissolve the crystals,” she explains. “Your skin will immediately look brighter and feel softer and it will also help improve the effectiveness of the other products you are currently using.”

For her clients hoping to address last minute pigmentation issues, she recommends, DermaMD Skincare’s Lightening and Brightening Pigment Corrector. “When used morning and evening, this serum will help to resurface and fade existing pigmentation, as well as prevent future hyperpigmentation from occurring.”

To Lighten and De-puff Under-Eye Circles…

Courtesy of Hydropeptide

Your under-eye area is some of the thinnest skin on your face and body—similar to tissue paper. When we’re low on sleep or had a few too many cocktails the night before, the capillary walls around the eye area become weak and begin to leak, explains McLain. “The blood from the weakened capillaries will then pool in that orbital cavity which often appears on the skin as a purplish circle around the eye area.”

To fight this, even in a pinch, her best advice is to treat your body right. “Eat healthy, drink water, avoid alcohol, and definitely get lots of sleep.” Eye creams can also help to reduce the appearance of dark circles and pigment issues around the eye area. One of her favorites is Hydropeptide's Eye Authority. “It helps boost circulation and eliminate that blood pigment responsible for dark circles and can also help with puffiness,” she says. “The best part is that it contains a pearl powder and mica to immediately illuminate and brighten the eyes.”

To Hydrate Sensitive Skin…

Courtesy of Herbivore

Listen up, winter brides: Cold weather can wreak havoc on skin, with the chilly air disastrously drying out your complexion. Couple that with your office's harsh heaters draining the air of moisture, and you just might find yourself with skin that's irritated and—gasp!—flaky. Piling on goops of thick, heavy moisturizer isn't always an option for those with more sensitive skin, so enter this skin-saving, natural night treatment. Herbivore's Moon Fruit is packed with vitamin-rich antioxidants, papaya, sugar cane, and citrus peel to clarify skin tone and texture, plus exfoliating fruit enzymes that'll leave your skin smooth and luminous. The shea and kokum butter base of this pretty purple cream also penetrates below the surface to really lock-in moisture. Plus, come morning, there's no rinsing required. (Because, really, do you need yet another thing to do on the morning of your wedding day?)

To Destroy Discoloration…

Courtesy of Omorovicza

Sometimes that hopelessly-in-love bridal glow just isn't enough. That's where this magical mask, from Budapest skincare brand Omorovicza, steps in. The brand's Midnight Radiance Mask features incredible ingredients that'll get you glowing, as well as promote cell renewal and fight discoloration. While salicylic acid exfoliates and smooths the skin, sand lily will help lessen the appearance of dark spots and discolorations by inhibiting the production of melanin. Plus, the formula's red algae and sodium hyaluronate provide long-lasting hydration while you slumber. Simply slather the blue-hued mask on at night—the gel texture practically melts into skin—and awaken with a gorgeous glow and more even-toned complexion.

To Strengthen and Smooth Frizzy Hair…

Courtesy of Kérastase

Whether your wedding-day hairstyle is an updo or down with Old Hollywood waves, no bride wants to deal with dry, frizzy locks that won’t stay in place. The best fix in the days leading up to your nuptials is an at-home moisturizing mask, like Kérastase’s Masque Magistral. Leave in for at least 10 minutes and after the treatment, suggests Jorge Manni, hairstylist at Eliut Salon in New York City, avoid over-washing your hair, which is the most common mistake made by people with dry hair. “This will calm the frizz and give extra shine for the big day,” he says.
