Ok, 2017 brides, it's time to get serious! If you're looking for ethereal and feminine on your wedding day, look no further than Israeli wedding dress designer Mira Zwillinger. The designer showed her Spring 2017 collection at Bridal Fashion Week today, and the dreamy wedding dresses are like something out of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Following up last year's gorgeous "Stardust" collection, Mira and Lihi Zwillinger, the mother-daughter design duo behind Mira Zwillinger, showed wedding dresses inspired by the magic of spring. And we're totally hooked!
Zwillinger noted in the show's program: "After every long winter comes a spring, inspiring new life in its wake. First buds appear on bare branches and the magic of nature unfolds." Mira Zwillinger's Spring 2017 bridal collection was a nod to that magic. "Our Spring 2017 collection is a nod to that magic. From fabric springs art and handmade creation blossoms with ornate beading and hand-cut ivory and blush flower appliques," noted the designers.
Delicate fabrics were the standouts here, with whispers of silk chiffon, lace, and tulle covered in hand embroidered florals. Sheer sheaths, separates, and a-line gowns were decorated in bold 3-D floral appliqués. While a-line gowns had their place, the column gowns, some with plunging necklines, and the majority in barely-there sheer fabrics, were the real stars.
Ahead of the show, Zwillinger touted "Whisper of Blossom" as the main inspiration for the show, and that definitely came through in these delightfully delicate wedding dresses.
