We’re always down for a romantic getaway, but as we head into winter, the idea of escaping somewhere warm—or perhaps just scenic, where we can enjoy the splendor of the season—becomes all the more appealing. Whether you’re planning your honeymoon or weekend trip, there are a handful of properties opening (or in some case reopening) in November and December that deserve your attention.

From the Kimpton’s design-centric sanctum in West Hollywood’s Design District to the highly anticipated launch of the Hyatt’s new resort on Banana Bay in St. Kitts, these are the debuts you’ll definitely want to keep on your radar. Our advice? Reserve your room ASAP because they’re bound to book up before you know it.

Cartesiano, Puebla, Mexico

Two hours southeast of Mexico City is Puebla, a charming city known for its cuisine and colonial architecture. The latest lodging to grace the historic center is Cartesiano, scheduled to open in November. In addition to its superb location—within walking distance from the central square, known as Zócalo de Puebla—this boutique hotel boasts 78 tranquil accommodations, split between Los Arcos (restored 16th-century mansion) and La Casa De Los Dos Patios (the more modern wing). There’s also a beautiful rooftop pool and deck, library, bar and two fine-dining restaurants.

Kimpton La Peer Hotel, Los Angeles

Situated amongst the shops, restaurants and museums in the West Hollywood’s vibrant Design District, Kimpton La Peer Hotel (open January 2018) is best described as a stylish sanctuary with a swanky and inviting zeal. The design-focused 105-room hotel come curated gallery draws inspiration from the creative spirit of the neighborhood it calls home with herringbone floors, string art installations, vintage brass light fixtures and Gaudi tiles. Looking for some R&R? Take a dip in the heated pool or request a butler-drawn in-room bath.

Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo

Four Season Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo will unveil a massive $35 million renovation in December 2017. Expect eco-luxury like you’ve never seen it before! Marked by a conscientious use of natural resources, the reimagined resort explores the interplay between modern sophistication and tropical ease with an emphasis on indoor-outdoor living, sustainable materials and indigenous art. Channel your inner adventure-seeker with a zip-line canopy tour or a visit to Palo Verde National Park and Wildlife Refuge, where you can see crocodiles, monkeys and 300 species of birds.

Hotel Paseo, Palm Desert

Joining the Autograph Collection in December is Hotel Paseo, the first new luxury lodging in Palm Desert in more than 30 years. From the angular porte-cochère entrance and poolside cabanas to the revamped 1950s Airstream trailer suite and mid-century accents, this arid oasis seamlessly integrates retro and contemporary design. Plus, its prime location—just steps from the upscale shops, bars and restaurants on El Paseo and in proximity to various hiking trails—allows guests to live out the property’s “find your path” philosophy.

Adare Manor, County Limerick, Ireland

When you think of Ireland’s countryside, you likely envision medieval ruins, verdant gardens and rolling hills. Such is the case with Adare Manor. This historic, almost fairytale-esque, Neo-Gothic castle turned five-star resort will reopen on November 2 following a restoration and expansion that includes a grand 350-seat ballroom, golf course re-envisioned by the legendary Tom Fazio and La Mer spa (one of only 11 in the world!). Could this be the site of William and Kate’s babymoon? We wouldn’t doubt it.

Amanyangyun, Shanghai, China

Nearly 15 years ago, when flooding threatened 10,000 camphor trees and 50 Ming and Qing dynasty homes, entrepreneur and philanthropist Ma Dadong—along with a team of botanists, engineers and architects—embarked on a decade-long relocation and restoration project that transported these living artifacts nearly 500 miles. Their new home? Amanyangyun (opening January 2018). Tucked away in the tranquil camphor forest on the outskirts of Shanghai, Aman’s fourth resort in China is a respite of natural relaxation. In addition to the suites and villas, the property also has zen gardens, a posh spa and calligraphy classes.

Park Hyatt St. Kitts

Come November, the Park Hyatt will add St. Kitts to its portfolio of properties. Nestled on a secluded stretch of golden sand, within the Christophe Harbour development on Banana Bay, this 126-room resort promises discerning travelers an immersive, authentic and upscale West Indies experience. In addition to soaking up some Caribbean sun at the beach or pool, visitors can also enjoy afternoon tea in The Great House’s colonial-style conservatory—one of three on-site eateries—Watsu therapy at The Sugar Mill Spa & Sanctuary or a guided rainforest excursion.
