Take the works of Georgia O'Keeffe, combine BHLDN's enterally-ethereal wedding dresses, and you have a collection that basically should be hung in a museum. BHLDN is giving Brides the exclusive on their pre-spring 2018 debut—a brand-new, curated collection of wedding dresses, showcased in a shoot inspired by the life and work of Georgia O'Keeffe.
Pack your bags, brides! We're heading to the Southwest. Well, BHLDN is—or they did, rather—to photograph their new collection of gowns amongst the Southwest's breathtaking landscape. But surprise, surprise: One of our favorite ready-to-wear bridal brands wasn't the first to be inspired by those red-rock mountains. The legendary American artist Georgia O'Keeffe famously had a studio in New Mexico, but eventually traveled to Utah, where she was reportedly “brought back to nature.” So could you think of a more beautiful setting to showcase BHLDN's new au naturale, carefree collection?
Shot at Utah's Amangiri Resort—an über-exclusive, über-remote desert resort ensconced in nature and crawling with Instagram opportunities—BHLDN's pre-spring 2018 collection offers bohemian, free-spirited frocks awash in dreamy lace. The Copeland Gown, for instance, features a delicate lace print of petals and vines (so very desert rose). The Antipolis Dress is another serious stunner with a straight silhouette crafted out of graphic crochet lace.
Like a shimmering desert sunset, other dresses in the collection feature unexpected, sparkling embellishments. Take the Climbing Blossom Gown for example with its featherweight tulle embroidered with beaded wildflowers. And melding with the stark canyon landscape are also clean, modern-minimalist dresses, like the Opaline Ballgown, that offer an effortless sensibility.
Dripping in desert tones and enlarged paper flowers, nods to Georgia O'Keeffe's creativity are apparent throughout the stunning showcase. So now, you don't have to trek all the way to Santa Fe's Georgia O'Keeffe Museum to sample the work of the artist. Just take gander at the gorgeous gowns in the photos below. And if you like what see, you've struck desert gold! All of the looks just launched today on BHLDN.com.
