Spending some alone time with the Queen of England is probably a bit of a nerve wracking experience, even if she is your grandmother-in-law, but Meghan Markle seems to be stepping up to the challenge and getting along with this matriarch quite splendidly. Despite only being an official part of the royal fam for a little over a month, the Duchess of Sussex appears to have garnered the Queen's approval, and the pair has attended their fair share of events together (including an official solo visit). Not to mention QE2 allowed Meghan to travel with her via royal train, a privilege not even Prince Harry has yet received.
These two are showing no signs of slowing down, either—Queen Elizabeth also requested Meghan's attendance (this time with Prince Harry) during yesterday's Young Leaders Awards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Whether it's their shared love of dogs or even an affinity for poking fun at Prince Harry, these two are clearly having a grand old time together. We're hoping this royal duo graces us with plenty more future public appearances (especially one-on-one) but, in the meantime, get your Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth fix with these 6 photos of their cutest moments thus far.
Young Leaders Awards Ceremony
Prince Harry third wheeled with Meghan and the Queen during the fourth Young Leaders Awards Ceremony, which highlights exceptional youth within the Commonwealth. Despite receiving slack for how she crossed her legs (eye roll), Meghan and the Queen (and Harry!) still seemed to have had a wonderful time.
Official Royal Engagement
We would give anything to know what these two were so giggly about. Perhaps an inside joke regarding Prince Harry? The Queen and Meghan were all smiles during their first solo appearance to Cheshire, England, where the royal women attended an opening ceremony for the Mersey Gateway Bridge.
Meghan Markle made her Royal Ascot debut with Prince Harry June 19, per invitation from the Queen. The trio was seen chatting it up at the horse racing event's opening day. Judging by their hand movements, the convo seems to be intently centered around Meghan and the Queen (sorry, Harry).
Trooping The Colour
The entire royal fam attended the Trooping The Colour ceremony, which celebrated Queen Elizabeth's 92 birthday, June 9. Looking pretty in pink and blue, both royals were in awe watching the Royal Air Force's air show from the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Although this STUNNING official portrait features the entire royal wedding bridal party and families, we had to commemorate the official start of the Queen and Meghan's blossoming royal relationship. Long live the Queen and her apparent infatuation with the Duchess of Sussex.
