Gemini and Joshua held their ceremony at the open-air Rotunda at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Their reception followed at the James Leary Flood Mansion in Pacific Heights. "We decided to have a solar eclipse as the theme of our wedding," says Gemini, who, despite her name, is a Virgo. "To us an eclipse symbolizes two separate entities merging together."

Gemini's Vera Wang gown of white silk-faced satin featured a lace-up back lined with a bloom of duchesse satin in the bride's favorite hue. A profusion of roses accented with mini orchids filled Gemini’s bouquet.

Roses bathed the moss-covered columns at the Rotunda's entranceway and the pomander balls on chairs by the aisles.

Joshua, his five groomsmen and the ring bearer, Brian Britt, 7, all wore traditional tuxedos with ties in varying hues of pink.

To execute the wedding's stellar concept, the couple worked with planner Joyce Scardina Becker of Events of Distinction to create an icon of a rosy sun and chocolate-colored moon (Gemini is a chocoholic who loves pink) that was emblazoned on the invitations, bookmarks (which doubled as place cards) and the top of the cake.

Vessels on the two long reception tables (one was called "Sole" and the other "Luna") were filled with brilliant bursts of pink hydrangeas, Garden roses, snowberries and cockscomb.

The reception feast (which was dairy-free because the bride is allergic) included prosciutto-wrapped grissini, soy-glazed wild salmon and seared beef fillet.
