A New York couple returns to D.C. to hold a fall wedding that started on a romantic rooftop and continued with a vibrant reception.

Elizabeth and Dan met in college, and lived in D.C. for a few years before moving to New York. Still, it was important for Elizabeth to wed near her hometown of Fairfax, Va. "I wanted a fall wedding, because D.C. is so beautiful in October," she says. For their nuptials, Dan wore a Jos. A. Banks tuxedo.

The ceremony was held on the Rooftop Terrace at The Hay-Adams. Elizabeth walked down the aisle as the Celebrated String Quartet played Pachelbel's Canon in D major.

Elizabeth's four bridesmaids wore brown dresses by J.Crew and carried bright bouquets featuring pink and orange roses. All flowers by Art with Flowers.

The couple and their 100 guests dined and danced in The Hay-Adams' Lafayette Room. The meal, catered by the hotel, included lobster bisque and Chilean sea bass.

The fondant-covered cake, created by Cakes Unique, had raspberry and white chocolate mousse filling. Fresh orange and pink flowers added color to the design.
