Chelsea Clinton walked down the aisle at Astor Courts, a 50-acre estate in Rhinebeck, New York, on Saturday July 31, 2010. After much speculation over what the bride would wear, Chelsea chose a strapless silk organza gown with a draped tulle bodice, and an embellished belt by Vera Wang, who was in attendance at the wedding. No word on whether Chelsea's father, former President Bill Clinton, shed a tear as he walked his daughter down the aisle, although Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said of her husband, "you should assume that if he makes it down the aisle in one piece it's a major accomplishment."

The ceremony was conducted by Rabbi James Ponet and the Rev. William Shillady. The couple read a poem by Leo Marks titled "The Life That I Have," according to the family.

As Chelsea and Marc exited their ceremony, they made their way to an air-conditioned tent where guests (including former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright as well as actor Ted Danson and his wife Mary Steenburgen) danced to tunes provided by Jim Vali and dined on food provided by the St. Regis Hotel. La Tulipe Desserts made the gluten-free wedding cake.

Secretary Clinton wore a plum-colored dress by Oscar de la Renta. The bridesmaids wore dresses in the same color by Vera Wang. In a joint statement to the press following her daughter's wedding ceremony, Bill and Hillary Clinton said, "Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family."

Chelsea and Marc met as teenagers, and both attended Stanford University, but their romance didn't blossom until late 2005. After rumors that they would marry in the summer of 2009 on Martha's Vineyard, the couple announced their engagement in November 2009.
