Laurice wore a chiffon Vera Wang gown. "It was simple, elegant, and light," she says. "The floral sash was just unique enough—the dress remained classic, but wasn't boring." She accessorized with a headband from Kleinfeld in New York, and carried a bouquet of annuluses, waxflowers, bouvardia, and hydrangea. Floral design was by My Flower Box. The groom donned a dark gray suit by Ermenegildo Zegna.

The bridesmaids, all college roommates of the bride, wore J.Crew dresses and carried bouquets of ranunculuses and roses.

Flower girl Maya wore a dress that was handmade by a family friend (and accented with a yellow J.Crew sash), and a wreath of waxflowers in her hair.

The ceremony took place in the upper garden of the Evergreen Museum & Library.

Officiated by the groom's uncle, the ceremony featured friends reading excerpts from the children's book I Like You by Sandol Stoddard Warburg. "When Alex's uncle said 'husband and wife,' it felt like everything suddenly got quiet," says Laurice. "I know the music was starting and people were applauding, but in that moment it was like there were just the two of us there."

To add a modern touch to the Evergreen's grounds, paper lanterns were scattered at random.

The couple made their own escort cards and used miniature clothespins to attach them to yellow ribbons.

The reception was held in the Evergreen's Carriage House and on its tented patio. "We were going for a warm and elegant look," says Laurice. "The Carriage House had a rough elegance that we loved, so we didn't have to decorate much."

Centerpieces featured roses, annuluses, and bouvardia arranged on tufts of wheatgrass. Curly willow tips and chocolate cosmos "grew" from the arrangements.

The menu cards, created by Baltimore boutique Simply Noted, featured the couple's monogram. Dinner was catered by the Brass Elephant restaurant in Baltimore (which has since closed). The meal included Salad Antoinette (featuring blood oranges, sea salt, and champagne vinaigrette), caramelized sea scallops, rack of lamb, and pan-seared rockfish. "We also got compliments on the vegetarian main course of potato gnocchi with crimini mushrooms and sautéed baby spinach," says Laurice.

The wedding cake, created by Patisserie Poupon, was decorated with fondant annuluses.

The evening's music was performed by a five piece band led by Daryl Davis, with a little help from the groom's uncle, brother, and cousin, who played the couple's first dance song, "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes. For the rest of the evening, guests filled the dance floor, where they kicked up their heels to swing, blues, and boogie-woogie tunes.

The group was also entertained by several speeches and toasts by family and friends, and everyone enjoyed a photo booth rented from Party Booths. "At one moment, Alex and most of his cousins—about 22 people total—crammed themselves into the booth for a picture!" says Laurice.
