It's no secret the editors of BRIDES love a really beautiful wedding bouquet, and if there's one thing the couples featured in our real weddings section know how to do right, it's pick a swoon-worthy arrangement of blooms. So, if you're a bride on the hunt for your own spectacular wedding bouquet, you can consider your search over.
Each week for the past year, we've brought you five unique and beautiful real weddings, all of which included standout flowers, and now we're revisiting our absolute favorite bouquets of 2016.
While we've never met a bouquet we didn't like, we found 20 arrangements that, well, we just couldn't forget. And this year, we were surprised to see that our favorite arrangements had many things in common.
First, our brides went big on color. While we certainly saw some stunning all-white arrangements or subtle blush-hued blooms, we were wowed by the bold magentas, purples, and even blue shades that were worked into this year's arrangements.
Our next surprise? Shape. In the past, we've seen lots of formal, round arrangements, but this year was all about loose, organic style. In fact, more brides than ever described their floral aesthetic using those two words!
So which bouquets made the list of our 20 favorites? Naturally, peonies and garden roses caught our eye, especially a bold arrangement that featured both blooms in multiple shades of bright pink. For the bride that's a bit more classic, you'll love a New York bride's late winter-inspired arrangement packed with ranunculus and lisianthus. We even found one extra-special DIY bouquet — the bride made it herself on the morning of her wedding!
